Flight
We recommend flying to Italy the weekend before the event (Friday, April 17 / Saturday, April 18 / Sunday, April 19). This will give you a chance to become acclimated to Italy and see some sights before heading to the villas. It will also provide a buffer for any flight delays or other hiccups in your travels.
Travel Note
We recommend downloading offline maps to your phone before arriving to Italy. Click below to see the location on Google Maps.
Rental Car
Please note that if you'd like to rent a car, you'll need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Rental Car
Florence, Rome, and many other major Italian cities have Limited Traffic Zones (Zona Traffico Limitato, or ZTL, in Italian) in place to reduce congestion in high-traffic areas. If renting a car, you'll need to familiarize yourself with these zones and plan a route to Villa Cini that avoids them. If you enter into a ZTL, you will be ticketed/fined. The Waze app is helpful for pointing out these zones.
