The average daytime temperature in Bucine in late April is 65 degrees, while nighttime temps can drop into the 40s. The wedding will be in a garden, so be mindful of grass when choosing your footwear. No, you do not need to book a room at the villas. We will book accommodations for all guests from April 20-23.
We recommend flying into Florence, as it's just 1 hour away and easily accessible by train. Rome is also a viable option, as it's 3 hours away (by train or rental car). View the 'Travel' tab for more information.
YES, you will need a passport. If you do not have a passport, please apply ASAP! It can take months to get your documents. If you already have a passport, please ensure it is valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave Italy.
No, travelers from the U.S. do not need to obtain travel authorization to visit Italy. Europe's new ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) program will not start operations until the last quarter of 2026, so this documentation will not be needed to attend the wedding.
Most places take major credit or debit cards. Check your credit cards to make sure they won't incur foreign transaction fees. If you plan on being in Italy for more than the celebration dates, we recommend bringing €50 to €100 per person to start the trip, which you can order from your bank to get a good conversion rate. With your debit card, you can also take out cash from ATMs in Italy for a nominal fee. We do not recommend using a currency exchange counter in the U.S. or when you land in Italy, as these typically have the worst conversion rates and higher fees.
The villas have Wi-Fi, which can be used to send messages or use FaceTime. Check with your cell service provider to see your options for international coverage when not connected to Wi-Fi.
