Athenaeum Hotel

The Athenaeum Hotel is an historic Victorian hotel located on Chautauqua Lake at the center of the Chautauqua Institution. The hotel website can be glitchy, so it is best to call the hotel to make your reservations. Use group code: 2024LENARD/DIAMOND to reserve a premium room for $139 per night. Please be sure to request a premium room, since these are the rooms that have been renovated.

Private Homes/Small Inns

We highly recommend that you stay on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution so that you will be close to all the wedding weekend festivities. The Chautauqua Institution is a gated community of historic Victorian homes, many of which have been converted into rental units that rent out by the week during the summer season. Many of these properties rent out at nightly rates in the fall season. You can access a list of these properties through the link below, but may need to call the owner/manager listed for each location in order to reserve dates in September 2024. All wedding events will be located at the southern end of the Institution grounds along Lake Chautauqua (near the intersection of Park Avenue and South Lake Drive).

All wedding events (other than Sunday brunch) will be located near the Chautauqua Boys' and Girls' Clubs located along South Lake Drive in the southern part of the Institution grounds. You can access a map of the Institution grounds using the link below.

Access to Chautauqua Institution

All drive-in gates to the Institution will be open from 6am to 6pm daily. Guests entering after 6pm will need to access the Institution at the Main Gate Auto Hut.
