We got engaged here. Telluride has four of our favorite things: great food, music, nature and people. It's paradise, right here in our home of Colorado. Lauren loves water. Telluride and the surrounding San Juans boast the most lakes in CO. It got ranked the 2nd most friendly city in America. These folks have perma-smiles. It's purty. Real purty. Ben learned to ski on these rugged slopes at 3yrs old. Many of his favorite family memories happened at his Aunt Denise's bungalow on Columbine st. But mostly... We wanted to find a place that would rip us all away from the daily noise so we could have the rare opportunity to connect with our closest friends and family. For us, this whole ordeal is much less about the ceremony and much more about a slow vacation with our most important people. We know its a pain in the ass to get here, but we guarantee it'll be worth it. You'll believe us when you see the stars.
Day time temps are generally around 70 degrees, but nights can drop to high 40s even in the summer. Freak snowfall can occur every once in a blue moon. We'll be in nature. Anything is possible. They say about Summer weather in Telluride..."if you don't like it, just wait 15 minutes."
Good question. We're not so sure ourselves. We want our event to be relaxed, joyful, and just a bit goofy. We encourage you to dress to optimize: Cocktail, comfort, Danceability, and Fun. This may be your best opportunity to bust out that Bolero, Cowboy Boots, or Hat you've been looking for an excuse to wear. Wedges for women are encouraged as we will be walking in grass.
Yes. The base of Telluride is over 9,000 feet. Mountain Village is at 10,000. Whether you're coming from Denver or out of town, we recommend prepping your system so you don't end up having a bad time. Getting altitude sickness is like mixing a rough bout of the flu with a bad night at the bars. It ain't fun and it can affect even the healthiest of folks. The good news is it's also pretty easy to prevent if you plan appropriately. Here are a few pro tips: 1. Several days prior to arrival, hydrate like you're never going to have water again. Drink about 100 oz/day. Add some electrolytes to the mix. A pinch of sea salt and some lemon in your water will help you retain those fluids. 2. If you're really worried about it, hit the Oxygen bar as soon as you arrive. 3. Climb slowly. Don't be too aggressive your first couple days as you acclimate. 4. Drink responsibly. Too much satan sauce, too soon is a fast way to deplete your body of fluids and make you feel pretty weird.

We love your kids, but let's make this an adult-only night! We encourage you to bring your children and get a sitter for the ceremony-reception.
