One of the most memorable places to visit in Downtown Vancouver. This island is easily accessible by car, bike, or a short (Canadian cash only) ferry ride. It's not open late, but is perfect to fill an afternoon with local arts, food, breweries/distilleries, and some history.
Stanley Park is a must do in your visit to Vancouver. There is a ton of activities from a bike ride (Ben and I will be doing this the Friday afternoon after the wedding if you want to join) around the perimeter with incredible views, to multiple walking trails, a 15 minute train ride, a water park, restaurants, 18-hole pitch and putt and even an aquarium and beach front to explore.
This is another unforgettable Vancouver must see. Not only is there a very cool suspension bridge, but there is also a cliffwalk, treetops walk, cafe, restaurant, and historical outdoor museum. We recommend getting there in the morning when it opens so you can enjoy the bridge and views without the crowds. It costs $54.95CAD, so if you want a free version, take a drive over to Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.
Absolutely stunning views of Vancouver and the Sound. If you make a reservation at the restaurant you can get onto the mountain for free (usually costs $59CAD). The Grouse Grind hike offers unbelievable views. There are a couple of rescue grizzlies you can meet, not to mention going to the top of a windmill for even more extreme look at the city below.
This is a fun day trip you can take to a local island by ferry. You walk all over the island on some nice easy hikes, kayak around it, or just sit and enjoy the art scene, view of Marina and some Canadian brews. See the travel section for more information on the ferry.
Take a ferry or seaplane out to Vancouver Island and explore the beautiful city of Victoria. While Ben and I have never been, we hear that it is worth the visit!
While you probably won’t be able to ski in June, if you are into off road cycling or zip lining this is probably worth the couple hour drive from Vancouver. Similar activities to Grouse Mountain are available with the added bonuses of golf and spa.
The western most side of British Columbia that includes several islands. Very beautiful, quieter than the city, lots of outdoor activities. If you have a couple days and want some more laid back alone time, this region is worth a look.
Seriously. Raffi lives on Salt Spring Island and has a booth at the farmers market every Saturday. But also Salt Spring, similar to Bowen, is a fun day trip for an easy explore.
Tons of tv shows, limited series and movies are filmed in and around Vancouver. Want to know what’s going on around the wedding? Check out this website for information on what is coming up.
