We met at Stockton Elementary School in Cherry Hill, NJ as tiny little humans and became "boyfriend and girlfriend" in the fifth grade. After innocent bouts of hand holding, we went our separate ways for middle school, high school, and college. We saw one another out at the quintessential Cherry Hill bar a week after college graduation in 2010, and decided to see if we actually liked one another. Our first date was at our favorite sushi restaurant in July 2010, and the rest is history!
After 10 years of dating, being long-distance between Virginia and New Jersey for 4 years, moving in together in New Jersey in 2015, then moving back to Virginia in 2017, we both knew we would eventually get married but the WHEN was the biggest question. Luckily for us, Covid-19 quarantine worked in our favor and made us stronger, and after finishing residency and restrictions being lifted, we went to visit my family in Florida. If you know us well, you know that I love photos and Mike, while camera shy, always obliges me with taking pictures. We went outside on my parents dock at sunset on the 4th of July to take our usual family holiday pictures, and between switching poses I turned around to see Mike down on one knee while my family stepped back to record and photograph the whole thing! After a lot of smiles, tears, and FEARS of Mike's shaking hands dropping the ring into the water, I screamed yes. That night we celebrated with lots of champagne and massive fireworks thanks to my dad's pyrotechnics- we couldn't have imagined anything more perfect.
