How We Met

First comes school, then comes marriage...

Alexander and I actually attended Camden Senior High School at the same time. He was two years ahead of me. Surprisingly for such a small town we had never been formally introduced. I knew of him by name and face, but that was it. Once we were out of school, we both went our separate ways. He went on to join the Army, and had two adorable young boys. I stayed in the Rome area and supported our military by working at DFAS, helping to ensure our service members received proper pay. In the summer of 2018, Alexander reached out to me via Facebook, and started a casual conversation. I was not entirely interested at that point. So was reluctant when he asked me to join him for a drink, neither of us yet realizing the distance. Sensing my hesitation, he asked me the question that has seemed to connect us ever since. "Introvert?" The rest is history really. We continued to talk every day, all day. Draining our data and minutes on our cell phone plans, until I made the first trip to Fayetteville, NC. Our first date pretty much sealed the deal. We were head over heels, and just knew. When you know, you know, ya know? We went to an art museum, fishing, an abandoned Rockefeller estate. It was perfect. Since then I made numerous trips back and forth to North Carolina from New York, until I moved for good. We have hardly spent a night or day apart since. And remain as head over heels for each other as we did in the beginning. We have found our soul mate, our person. <3
