In our research, we have found that Rome may have the most affordable prices and easiest modes of transportation in getting to Spoleto. But if you are traveling through Italy before or after the wedding, you may want to consider flying into Rome and out of Florence.
We recommend you stay in Spoleto, the nearest town to the Abbey where our wedding and reception will be held. It has shops and restaurants and we will be providing transportation to and from the venue from Spoleto. Our welcome reception will also be held in town. There are no large hotels in the area, but there are several vacation rentals and quaint B&Bs. We recommend you do some research into what suits your needs and travel plans.
As we have chosen to marry a little later than most, we understand that you may have one or two or five littles and even though we love each of them dearly, we are unable to accommodate that many mini-mouths and think you deserve a night (or week) off anyway. The only children that will be in attendance are those who are part of our wedding party. Of course this doesn't mean your children can't be a part of your European adventure; if you need help making arrangements for child care the night of the wedding, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
The short answer is yes, but Covid regulations require all un-vaccinated (including children) individuals to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. We understand that very few have the luxury of taking three weeks off to attend a wedding and recommend making this an adults only adventure.
Italy has decided to essentially mandate vaccination. With this change in policy, their number of Covid related illnesses has significantly decreased and will likely continue to drop in the following months.
