As much as we don't like to admit it, we met the way a lot of people do these days... online. We talked and texted for a few days and decided to meet at Lakes & Legends Brewery in Loring Park. After a few beers and hours of conversation, we were not ready for the date to end so decided to go for a walk downtown. At the corner of Nicollet and 9th, while waiting for the light to change, Dan twirled Angela around and we slow danced on the street corner with no music and no one watching (well, we were pretty sure some people were watching and wondering what the heck we were doing). He leaned in for a kiss and the rest is history.

Two years later to the day, Dan re-created that very first date for the perfect "surprise" proposal. We met at Lakes & Legends for a few beers, went for a walk, and after twirling Angela around on the same corner at Nicollet and 9th, Dan got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. He had friends across the street documenting it, planned to have our dog babysat, paced out the walk from the brewery to the corner to know how long it would take Angela to walk in heels, faked needing and then not needing a coffee to make sure the timing was right, all to pull off the most special night. After the proposal, Dan had arranged for a romantic dinner downtown and a mini stay-cation. It could not have been more perfect or more us.
