Our wedding venue: Rosecliff Mansion
During the wedding planning process, we both felt drawn to estates with a rich history and character. The moment we saw photos of Rosecliff, we knew it would be an ideal location to celebrate with our friends and family. Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini. Scenes from several films have been shot on location at Rosecliff, including The Great Gatsby, 27 Dresses and True Lies (that last one is highly recommended viewing!).
Cliff Walk
Newport's famous 3.5 mile walking route offers panoramic ocean views on one side and stunning, century-old, Gilded Age mansions on the other. A Newport must-do!

Known simply as "the cottages," the Breakers, Marble House and the Elms are just a few of the most opulent estates to visit along Bellevue Avenue. We think the mansion gardens alone are worth the visit!

This list would not be complete without us recommending a winery or brewery or two! There's a number of options to choose from, depending on your taste, including the Newport Vineyards or Taproot Brewing in Newport. A great way to unwind from a day of tourist adventures.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame
Housed in the architecturally significant former Newport Casino, the Tennis Hall of Fame is the place for you if (like the bride) you love the sport of tennis!
Audrain Auto Museum
The Audrain has a collection of some of the rarest and most remarkable automobiles in history. Recommended visit for all car enthusiasts!
Brenton Point State Park
Occupying the former grounds of one of Newport's grandest estates, Brenton Point State Park affords its visitors one of the most spectacular views on the East Coast.
