Lauren is my best friend from undergrad and one of my favorite people in the world! I have always been inspired by her passion for adventure and trying something new. Lauren is the true definition of chasing her dreams and that is something I admire greatly. She has walked with me through so many stages of life and I am so grateful for her. She has encouraged me every step of the way since I have known her. The best cheerleader and best friend a girl could have! Even though she lives on the other side of the country (east coast is beast coast as a reminder) she has been so intentional in maintaining our friendship and it does not go unnoticed! My soul sister for the rest of my life! <3

Other than Barrett, Rena probably knows me better than anyone else. After becoming roommates by chance we have grown into the best of friends. I attribute meeting Barrett to Rena because if it wasn't for her I never would have moved to Virginia Beach. Her family has become like family to me, and she was the first person I ever took home to Tyrone (even before Barrett!) I am so blessed to be walking through this season of engagement at the same time as her! She has the sweetest relationship with her fiancé, Matthew, and we love them so much! Barrett and I are looking forward to Parretts and Ratts nights forever <3

Sarah is another roommate who turned into a wonderful friend! If there is anyone in the world who can eat spicy food with me, it's Sarah. Her smile is contagious and she is always down for an adventure! Whether it was a trip to the store, ice cream runs to Mister Goodies, or the farmer's market, Sarah was always down to tag along. Watching her grow in her career and hear her teaching stories has been the absolute best. If you need tips on getting freshman to behave, Sarah's your girl! Also she has the cutest snake ever, Sunny, and she makes owning a snake a cool thing, not weird. I love her so much!

Halee (and her husband Paul) have been the most wonderful friends to me these last several years. I have spent many holidays (including Christmas) with them and their dog, Daisy. They have opened their home and fed me so many meals it's insane. Halee is one of the coolest people that I know and she is never afraid to be honest. She is the definition of speaking truth in love! She also could beat you up, no problem. She's been doing CrossFit for a while now and I am so glad that I am friends with her and not on her bad side. All jokes aside, I am so blessed to know her and call her my friend
Caroline Miekley

CAROLINE! This girl is the best! Caroline was my roommate in Virginia Beach, the other half of the chocolate factory, and a huge reason why I survived my first year here. After meeting randomly on Only Girls LU (iykyk) Caroline jumped right in to loving me well. She has put up with all of my crazy kitchen creations and falling asleep on the couch instead of going to bed at night. There were so many DQ runs and Mario Kart matches that I have lost count. She is an incredibly hard worker and I watched her train for several half-marathons. This girl is a BEAST! A middle school health and PE teacher and a coach, she is on mission every day loving on the next generation. I am so grateful to know and love her. MY SHAYLA!

My sweet Madi girl. We have known each other for what feels like forever! Growing up in a small town means you know everyone you are in school with. We grew closer throughout high school, but finally became best friends our senior year when we were in Physics together and had to build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape. We have been incredibly close ever since. Madi, her husband Stevie, and their adorable daughter, Wrenley, are some of the kindest and most genuine people in the world. They reflect the love of Christ to every single person they come in contact with. I got to stand with her while she married her love, and I am blessed she will be with me when I marry mine!

Kayla is one of the most loyal people you will ever meet in your life. She has an incredibly hard job of leading others in young adult ministry, and she does it in full submission to the Lord. She has been a part of Barrett's life for a long time, and I am incredibly grateful that she is now a part of mine. She is encouraging, smart, and my favorite gluten free homie. She has blessed my life in so many ways, but watching her worship the Lord through singing is the most wonderful thing. She also pushes me at the gym, to the point where I think I threatened to take her out of the wedding LOL! Even though her eating habits are a little wonky (shout out to spam), I am blessed to have her be a part of my life!

Ellie is the best y'all. I am pretty sure she has never met a stranger! Her energy is so infectious and you can't help but want to spend time with her. She has a lot of the same passions in life as I do and that has been such a huge blessing because we get to geek out about the same things. We get to work together at the Crisis Pregnancy Center and it is the best thing ever. Ellie has the best sense of style and is so unapologetic in the way that she shares Christ. Ellie is a true friend who has impacted me for the better. I am a better person for knowing and loving her!
Brandon Adams

My first, best, and, frankly, only brother. He may be taller, but he's still to this day my baby brother (and having a baby of his own didn't change that either!). Brandon and I have a relationship I wouldn't trade for anything and he knows and understands me better than anyone. I am constantly amazed at what the Lord has done in his life, and the light that Brandon has been to me as a result! You will not meet a more loyal, faithful, compassionate friend than in Brandon. Though our conversations have largely matured over the years, we will never pass up the opportunity to rough house and annoy each other, to the ire of our parents. We are still the same ridiculous brothers we were as kids underneath the adult exterior, and I consider it a privilege and blessing to have Brandon in my life.

My favorite mustard addict (hey at least it isn't drugs!). You will not meet someone with a busier calendar, but you will also not meet someone who makes as much time to spend with the multitude of people in his life he cares about. Whether it's camping trips, day trips to the outer banks, or impromptu half marathons, Matthew is a man of many activities, and he always bring his friends alongside. Life is more interesting with a friend like Matthew!

My fellow car guy, Lucas made a career out of what I could only elevate into a problematic hobby. He's so much more though; Lucas is a modern Renaissance man. Musically gifted, a brilliant mechanic, urban explorer, photographer, the list goes on. What has always stood out the most though has been his heart for God and his heart for people. Lucas is one of the kindest souls I've ever met and I am so thankful for his friendship!
