We're Getting Married!

The first day that we met, Paige put her foot in her mouth right away. After making a comment about divorce, it was quickly explained that she was a counselor and thought that the church's Divorce Care ministry was "awesome." We continued to get to know each other through the Monday night bible study that Barrett teaches and hang outs with the young adult's group (often at Barrett's home.) Paige had a "crinkle" on Barrett very early into knowing him after seeing his character and love for the Lord. Multiple of the girls in the group were pushing for us to get together, even asking Barrett what he thought about Paige. Finally, on December 15th 2024, Paige asked Barrett to coffee at his dining room table working on a puzzle. We went on our first date (breakfast at First Watch) on December 17th. Barrett changed the oil in Paige's car on December 20th and a Chili's date followed. By the end of the night we were dating, and the rest is history!

We were sitting on Barrett's couch on Sunday evening, September 14th discussing many different things, including what we would desire our engagement to look like. Paige made several comments about wanting it to be a surprise for everyone, not just herself. Barrett had already shared his plans with a few friends and realized he needed to think of something else for it to be a surprise. The Lord has a surprise in store for both of us! At the Lord's prompting, Barrett proposed that night, in his den, with his high school class ring. It was the perfect proposal to us, and fit exactly what we desired - a special situation with just the two of us and the Lord. Getting to share the news together to our family and friends was amazing!
