We strongly recommend flying to Palm Springs International (PSP) to avoid additional driving. However, Palm Springs is within a 2-3 hour drive from all major LA-area airports, including Los Angeles International (LAX), Burbank (BUR), Ontario (ONT), Long Beach (LGB), and Orange County (SNA). Please allow for additional travel time should you plan to drive in from any of the LA-area airports.
The Avalon Hotel & Bungalows is located steps from Downtown Palm Springs, and most places within the city are accessible by walking, public transit, Uber or Lyft. If you plan to explore outside of Palm Springs (e.g. Joshua Tree or the greater Coachella Valley), we would recommend renting a car.
Along with the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows, we also have room blocks available at the Renaissance Palm Springs and Courtyard by Marriott Palm Springs. Each block has 10 rooms, and may be booked via the links on our travel page. Should you have any difficulty booking hotel reservations, please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us directly.
A shuttle will be provided for all guests, departing from both the Renaissance and Courtyard hotels the day of the wedding. The shuttle will also be available to bring guests back to these hotels during and after the reception.
Imagine going to an outdoor wedding on a hot, dry summer day. Think bright colored dresses or sundresses, floral prints, and suits in lighter hues. Linens welcome. Ties optional. Wear shoes you don't mind being outside in.
Fall is one of the best times of the year to visit Palm Springs. Expect hot days with cool, but not cold, nights.
Our Farewell Brunch will be a family affair, but unfortunately, our Welcome Drinks and Wedding Celebration will be adults only. Should you be traveling with children, the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows provides babysitting services upon request. Should you need a sitter, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may work with you to arrange for one.
In lieu of a wedding registry, we invite you to contribute to either our surrogacy fund or one of two DC-based organizations: Casa Ruby and SMYAL. More information on how to contribute to our surrogacy fund may be found below. More information on Casa Ruby and SMYAL, as well as how to contribute to either of those organizations, may be found on our Registry page.
The best way to contribute to our surrogacy fund is to write us a check directly. Checks may be made payable to either Barrett Lane or Aaron Kozuki. Our address is: 2110 10th St NW, Apartment 2 Washington, DC 20001
