The Inn at Stonecliffe

The Inn at Stonecliffe on Mackinac Island is happy to be the host hotel for the wedding. This is where we'll be spending our special weekend, from ceremony to drinks. To book, don't forget to use our discount. They accept telephone reservations during their open season (mid-May to mid-October) 24-hours a day, and during their closed season (mid-October to mid-May) from 9am-3pm EST Monday-Friday. We do have discounted room rates available for guests of the wedding. Hotel offers two unique types of accommodations, each with several styles of rooms. Each guest room includes complimentary wireless internet and hot-breakfast buffet. The first night’s room and tax (16%) will be due at the time you make your reservations. The deposit is refundable (less a $25 fee) up to ten days prior to your arrival, should you need to cancel.

Ferry Information

Star Line: 1-800-638-9892 Shepler’s: 1-800-828-6157 Passenger ferry service to Mackinac Island is located in the downtown areas of Mackinaw City in the lower peninsula and St. Ignace in the upper peninsula. The ride to the island is approximately 20-25 mins. When you arrive at the boat docks on the mainland, please instruct the ferry dock attendant to tag your luggage for the Inn at Stonecliffe. Be sure to retain your luggage claim checks. Please ensure your luggage is properly labeled with your name and contact information. Upon your arrival to the island, a Stonecliffe dock porter will assist you with your luggage and transportation to the Inn at Stonecliffe. Please do not assume your luggage will automatically arrive at the Inn. Before you leave the ferry docks, please ensure your luggage has been properly attended to by a Stonecliffe dock porter. If it's necessary for you to ride a taxi to the Inn, don't leave the ferry docks without your luggage.

Taxi Information

The Mackinac Island Carriage Tour Company provides horse-drawn taxi service 24 hours a day. Reservations can be made by calling the taxi company directly at (906) 847-3323. Call taxi before getting on ferry!!!! Taxi rates vary according to destination and point of departure. Shuttle fares are payable to the shuttle driver in cash only. Fares are subject to change, but typically top out at $7.50 per adult and $4.00 per child, one-way. Shuttle times also vary depending upon the season and amount of demand. Typically speaking, they depart downtown every other hour between 10am and 6pm in May, September, and October. Please call Mackinac Island Carriage Tours at (906) 847-3323 to confirm the schedule during the time of your stay. Any time after your arrival that you are in need of a taxi or shuttle, please make arrangements through the front desk. This is especially important the day of your departure to ensure a smooth process.

Flight

Pellston Regional Airport

Commercial airline service is available through Delta Airlines to Pellston Regional Airport, which is 14 miles from Mackinaw City. Shuttle service is available from the Pellston Airport to the Mackinaw City ferry docks by contacting Wolverine Stages (800) 825-1450 or Mackinaw Shuttle (231) 539-7005. Air charter service to the island is also available should you prefer to fly directly to the island or miss the last ferry. You can arrange a flight to the Island by contacting Great Lakes Air in St. Ignace (906) 643-7165. Taxi service from the Mackinac Island airport to the Inn can be arranged by contracting the Mackinac Island Carriage Tours at (906) 847-3323. North Country Sky provides service from Midway International in Chicago, IL to Pellston Regional Airport in Pellston, MI.

Getting to Mackinac Island by Car

Traveling North: US 23 to I-75 North, or I-75 North to Mackinaw City Exits (337, 338 or 339). Follow the signs to the Mackinac Island Ferry Docks. Traveling South: Take US 2 East or I-75 South to St. Ignace. Take the State Street exit and follow the signs to the Mackinac Island Ferry Docks.
