Back in August of 2016, Kyle was living in Portland while Shannon was in nursing school. Kyle came to visit Shannon in Colorado. They camped in Buena Vista along the Arkansas River for a music festival and fell in love with the area.
Given that it is a small town there is not Uber or Lyft. Everything is practically walking distance. However, if you aren't feeling the walk back in your heels at the end of the night there is a lady, named Corrine, who has a taxi service. It's on demand so you can just call her when you want a ride. She will drive until about midnight or 12:30 am. Her number is 719.239.0548 and her website is corrinecarservice.com
Unfortunately, we have a tight guest list. We can only accommodate the individual(s) named on the invitation. Sorry, but no plus ones.
Our wedding venue only accommodates a certain amount of people and we're really trying to keep our wedding small and intimate. We love your kids, but we simply can't accommodate for adults + children, unless already approved by us. Relax, have fun and secure a babysitter for the night/weekend.
Semi-formal
The elevation in Buena Vista is 7,965 feet. If possible, we strongly recommend you arrive in Denver or Buena Vista a few days early so you can acclimate to the elevation, especially if coming from sea level. Here are some tips on how to acclimate to the higher elevation: 1). Drink lots of water- don't wait until you're thirsty to drink water, drink regularly while in town. Even better, start increasing your water intake before you arrive! 2). Monitor your booze intake- at higher elevations it is easy to get tipsy faster. We would love for you to try the great Colorado beers and breweries, but consider starting out slow and drink water in between drinks. 3). Pack sunscreen- we have over 300 days of sunshine in Colorado and the sun is more intense. You can still get a sunburn even at cooler temperatures, so make sure and pack sunscreen and reapply often! 4). Have fun- we want you all to enjoy the beautiful state of Colorado. Get outside and explore!
