Kyle and Shannon met back in Eugene, Oregon during October of their Freshman year (2011). Shannon and her group of friends were wandering around the streets of Eugene trying to find a party. It just so happened, Kyle, and his group of friends walked by also looking for a party. They locked eyes and had an instant connection. The first words Kyle spoke to Shannon were "Hey, I like your boots, what's your name?". Kyle and Shannon walked and talked together for a long time. Shannon ended up asking Kyle to the Alpha Phi Barn Dance the following weekend. They had a great time and the rest is history. They officially start dating on July 9, 2012. Over 8 years ago!

Kyle had planned on going to Europe for his future brother-in-law's (Eric Reilly) bachelor party in Germany. Kyle, being the avid runner that he is, decided he wanted to run a race in Switzerland the week before. Shannon had never been to Europe before and decided she wanted to go with Kyle. They flew in to Geneva and drove to the quaint village of Champery. The next day Kyle ran a 20 mile race through the Swiss Alps. The day after that, Kyle proposed to Shannon on a hike. They spent the rest of the day at Lake Geneva, and ended the night with some delicious fondue at a Swiss Chalet. After Switzerland, they spent a couple days in Munich together. Kyle stayed there for Eric's Bachelor party and went to Oktoberfest. Shannon met up with her friend in Amsterdam.
