Bride
Kaitlin was born and raised in Colorado, a state that she adamantly believes is the best (the jury is still out on that. Haha, get it? Oh wait, you won't get it yet nevermind). She got her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Colorado State University before moving to Connecticut in 2012 to pursue her law degree (now you get it!) from the University of Connecticut. She has worked as a successful superhero, defending the weak and downtrodden from the overly litigious, or more commonly known as an insurance defense attorney. She has lived in Connecticut ever since which is where she met Eric. She quickly fell in love with Eric's perfect butt and has decided the rest of him is acceptable as long as she can marry that butt.
Groom
Born in the wilds of Salem, Canada, Eric enjoyed a simple life with his dire-moose, Eduardo. He often came to the US through the secret entrance (only accessible to Salem Canadians) through Niagra Falls. But he left it all behind to come to Connecticut and dedicate his life to curing pandemics. Along the way he met Kait and decided she was fine and that she could stay. Then they got a dog. And a kitty. And then another kitty. And here we are.
Maid of Honor
When Kait first met Lex, in an interview for an internship in college, she wasn’t a fan. When they both got the internship, it became clear that first impressions were misleading. They became fast friends over late night IHOP and bad pizza at 1am. Soon, they became roommates and decided to take the leap to go out of state to grad school at the same time. Lex has always been there for Kait and supported her in everything. She couldn’t ask for better than Pizey (even if she doesn’t like porridge and runs ten miles NBD). And no, Pizey, no ham and cheese at the wedding.
Best Man
Eric and Doug were roommates freshmen year in college and best friends since. Doug introduced Eric to the world of boardgames and they have traveled to many conventions together. When Doug got married almost 11 years ago Eric stood next to him as Best Man, now it's time for Doug to return the favor.
Bridesmaid
Kait does not have a single memory that Kara isn’t a part of. They “met” as infants at church and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. They’ve had a lot of formative memories together, like when they would go sledding on broken down Eggo boxes on the hill behind the church or when Kara taught Kait about the proper treatment of trees (thanks to her tree doctor father). Also the time Kait called a police officer “fool”. They have successfully maintained a long distance friendship since Kara went to Illinois for undergrad and that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon. They’re stuck with each other.
Groomsman
Nick worked with the Best Man's wife and used his connections to infiltrate the Boardgame group. He has been a loyal friend for nearly a decade and is always up for an adventure. He may also be two R2D2 units in a trench coat. The world may never know.
Bridesmaid
Kait’s 396 to her 369. They grew up down the street from one another and, to have Alyssa tell it, Kait hated her. She claims that Kait had a shirt that said “I hate Alyssa” on it. Kait disputes this assertion and seeks evidence of this accusation which seems wholly meritless. Eventually, they learned to be friends in 5th grade and have never looked back. From hours long talks in the car in Alyssa’s driveway when she was supposed to go inside to multiple renditions of the Sonic song, they continue to never shut up when they’re around each other. It doesn’t matter if it’s been 6 days or 6 months, they always pick up right where they left off.
Groomsman
Kevin is the latest addition to the game group, he moved in next door to Nick just to sneak his way in. (At least that's what Eric assumes. It's the only option that makes sense). But he succeeded and here we are. Kevin has provided many recommendations for new games or shows to watch wether Eric was looking for something new or not because he is passionate about supporting the people and things he likes and hopefully he likes Eric and will serve his Groomsman duties with the same passion.
Bridesmaid
Brenda is a giant likeminded weirdo that Kait bonded with instantly during their work study at law school. Without Brenda, Kait never would have become obsessed with Game of Thrones or Pretty Little Liars (but specifically the recaps). Brenda also introduced her to boardgames (the fancy ones) and gave her something to talk about with her future husband. Even though she and her family have moved to Minnesota, they remain close.
Groomsman
Lee has known Eric for 35 years, possibly because they are brothers. Lee introduced Eric to the wonderful world of video games, something Eric has been grateful for since.
Bridesmaid
Colie is the most patient and supportive friend (hence why she allowed Kait to rename her “Colie” even though she prefers her given Christian name of Nicole). She’s always been there for Kait since 1L of law school. Her husband Ryan even brought Kait her robes to graduation (thanks Ry). Can’t wait to have her be a part of the big day.
Groomsman
Evan is Eric's younger brother, and he has learned the ultimate sibling rule: never trust your older brother. But even though he remains suspicious, he will serve well as Groomsman.
Bridesmaid
The little sister Kait never had but always wanted. Kait hit the jackpot with Emily. She’s been super awesome and supportive in welcoming her to the family. Emily invited Kait on her first trip out of the country (to drink unholy amounts of Guinness in Ireland). Kait is looking forward to more adventures to come with Emily and Jonny. Emily is an incredible future sister in law and Kait can’t wait for Emily’s own wedding in March!
Groomsman
Jonny will be marrying Emily (No not that Emily, that's the brides highschool friend. No not that one either, she went to law school with the bride. Yeah! That Emily, Eric's sister!) next year. While initially suspicious of anyone who wanted to date his sister, Eric’s puppy McFly immediately took a liking to Jonny. Therefore, Eric decided that he was to be trusted. He has excellent taste in video games, TV shows, travel, and food. He has been a great friend and Eric is looking forward to adding another brother to the family.
Bridesmaid
Kait and Em have been friends since high school. They lived together for five years and were arguably common law married until Eric (not that one, a different one…blame our parents for uncreative naming choices) broke up the marriage in 2013 (RIP Kemily). They’ve continued to remain friends across the country and Em even came to New York to live out our Say Yes to the Dress dreams at Kleinfeld’s.
Bridesmaid
Met Kait in law school and they instantly bonded when it turned out that Emily’s boyfriend (now husband) lived in Kait’s hometown and on the same (ish) street as her parents. They’ve been amazing friends ever since and now Emily lives in Kait’s home state and Kait lives in her’s.
Officiant
Avid Jurassic Park fan who is always down for anything but especially if it involves sushi (to be clear: the food, not her cat). Met Kait in law school and they’ve had countless adventures together since, including an impromptu drive to Jersey in a freak snowstorm to try on dresses. There’s no one else that could ever bring the energy or the vibe to our wedding day.
