Echo Bluff State Park has several of trails, scenic views, and a herd of wild horses to keep you entertained aside from any planned wedding events. They have mountain bikes for rent, a store with all the basics, and an on site bar and grill to keep your needs met. It's also kid and pet friendly, has free wi-fi, and good amount of staff to help you with whatever you may need.
I took Jim here on his first trip to the Ozarks, before he ever saw the river. It's a historic old mill with millions of gallons of spring water pouring out that looks like it could be straight from the Caribbean Ocean. There's a short trail around the spring see it up close.
This unusual "karst window" allows a look at the earth's plumbing. Devils Well was formed when the roof of a huge cavern, containing an underground lake, collapsed. The result was large sinkhole, with an opening in the bottom through which you can view the lake. There's plenty of trails here too, and one that leads to the Current River if you'd like to go for a quick dip while hiking.
Another great spring to see thats nearby the wedding venue.
Park Rangers conduct 2 hour lantern tours for the public of this beautiful natural cavern. These somewhat strenuous "underground hikes" are limited to the first 15 people. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a jacket or sweater, as it is cool in the cave. Tours are offered daily, at 10:00, noon and 2:00, during the summer months and cost $5 for adults and $2 for children.
This is the outfit we'll be using for the wedding float on Sunday, June 19th. Their website can help you learn more about them, the river, and what to expect on your first relaxing float down the river.
