(As told by Erin) summer 2020 I was walking my dog when he darted into a dingy little dive bar in Baltimore the was at the end of Jim's street. The owner of the bar gave my dog a treat and I thanked them on Instagram, when Jim saw it and immediately slid into my messages. He made sure to mention that even though we hadn't met, we had mutual friends who could verify he wasn't a creep. He asked me out for about 4 months before I finally agreed to meet. I just said "ok, what are you doing right now? Lets get dinner" - he was at my door within an hour and we've spent almost every day together since.
Ocean City, Maryland We took a weekend trip to the beach when it was suppose to be a beautiful weekend in March. In reality, it became a Nor'easter and the winds made being on the beach feel like you were walking into a small sandblaster. As we walked the beach, I asked Jim if you could rent metal detectors, because "I bet we'd find a lost wedding ring or something" ... I had no idea the ring was in his pocket. Since the weather was so bad, we decided to walk the board walk and grab some lunch. While on the boardwalk, in the middle of everyone he stopped to tie his shoe, only I realized it wasn't his shoe, he was on his knee telling me beautifully romantic things and asking me to marry him. He pulled out a beautiful ring, I said yes, and then we celebrated with oysters and champagne.
