Are kids welcome?

Answer

Short Answer: Yes. Long Answer: We are blessed with SO many family and friends who have such adorable kids. We did our best to accommodate kiddos especially for those who are traveling far - we know how hard that is BUT we also know it is also nice to get away for the weekend. So please check your invite if your kids were included and if that is a YES, then you make the decision on what type of weekend you want to have:) We know you will make the best decision for your family. What will the weather be like?

Answer

Welcome to Virginia, where the hills are rolling, the mountains are high and the temperature super HOT in the summer, like HOT HOT. The average for this time of year is 85 during the day but it cools nicely in the evening down to mid 70s. Don't worry, there be plenty of shade, breeze and liquids to keep you cool - with or without the good stuff.

Where should I park?

Answer

If you take advantage of our complimentary and highly suggested Coach Bus service, no need to worry - drop off and pickup will be at the main entrance. If you choose to drive, Parking will be down the loooooong driveway. Signs will direct you to the outdoor ceremony by The Wedding Tree.

What should I wear?

Answer

Oh, we have LOTS of ideas about this but simply Your Wedding Best - show up and show out! It is VERY likely you will be photographed:) We LOVE a good cocktail dress and the like for the gents but be comfortable - it's summer...be cool, look cool - we want you to move on that dance floor!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors at The Wedding Tree and the reception is also outdoors in an open air greenhouse and joining pavilion, near the lake! (not our Lake, the lake)

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Answer

We will be lucky if Lake wears shoes at all - I wish I was kidding:) There are parts of the venue that are outdoor grass areas, where walking will need to be done from Ceremony to Reception. So, you might want to rethink those Stiletos. As much as we LOVE them - and we do - maybe another choice would be better.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

During the actual ceremony we will ask that you refrain from using your phones and enter into the space with reverence to the ritual buuuuuuuut after... YES!! YES!! YES!! We would love for you to take photos and share them with us! Strike a pose, lift a drink, take a selfie...keep it classy where needed and where it is not - please please capture that!! We will update how to share them with us as we get closer to the big day!

Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?

Answer

Of course, information is on the TRAVEL tab of this site! We want you to fully enjoy our event with ease and safely, so we have arranged Coach Bus transportation to and from Avonlea Farms for the ceremony and reception. Due to the venue distance, there will be 1 bus ride to & 1 bus ride from Avonlea Farms departing and arriving back at each of the host hotels, so don't miss the complimentary ride...the Mr's "I Do's" won't wait! DEPARTURE: 2:45pm RETURN: After event ends at 11:00pm, the everyone has to load up...so 11:45-Midnight

I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

We have reserved 2 Hotels with blocks, links are on the TRAVEL tab of this site! Book ASAP please, so we can add rooms if needed as those fill up. There are other area hotels as well!

Answer

YES, the gents are just starting out so it would be so appreciated! Those Honeymoon funds - at the top of the list! You can gift on the site or just bring it with you. Navigate over to the REGISTRY tab of this site!
