This is our favorite excursion company and has all kinds of adventures from mild (sunset cruises) to wild (zip-lining adventures). Note that this company also provides excursions to our wedding location at Las Caletas, so you should skip those!
This is another popular tour company we have used in the past (for ATV/jungle buggy tours). They also have a restaurant and bar that guests can use at the end of their tours.
This is yet another excursion company with more of a focus on learning and the environment. A whale watch is a perfect activity to book here!
Zona Romantica / Downtown Puerto Vallarta (El Centro) are the neighborhoods you will want to explore while you are visiting. About a 10 minute uber from the hotel, these areas are packed with cobblestone streets, restaurants, bars, shops, and the historic city center. Zona Romantica has more nightlife (including most of the gay bars), and El Centro is more historic (but both are right next to each other). Walk along the Malecon (boardwalk) and be sure to also visit Isla Cuale, a small island dividing the two neighborhoods that also has restaurants, bars, and shops. Most of the restaurants listed below are walkable from these neighborhoods.
PV has a ton of local art galleries, and you can take a self-guided tour following the Vallarta Art Walk map at vallartaartwalk.com. Many of these galleries are a very short walking distance from the Welcome Party location.
Casual and lively seafood restaurant. We visited twice on our first visit together to have the whole red snapper (twice).
Indoor and beachside dining with a focus on seafood. Try the lobster tacos!
An insanely good cafe where churros are the star of the show. A must try.
Sister restaurant to El Dorado, and a very popular PV restaurant with options to sit on the beach.
Oscar's is located on Isla Cuale and has its own tequila distillery. A great place to grab a quick bite or a drink.
Puerto Vallarta has a thriving LGBT scene. If you're looking to catch a drag or cabaret show, this is the place to do it. Nearby sister venue Coco Cabaret also hosts similar shows, which can be booked on the same website.
A great place to shop for Huichol art. There are a few locations throughout Puerto Vallarta.
This is one of the newly developed area of Puerto Vallarta and has many restaurants and bars as well.
If you are feeling adventurous, this taqueria near the Marina is home to many raccoons that will join you for dinner!
This restaurant is a bit further away (south of the hotel) via a beautiful drive through the mountains. The views here are hard to beat!
