***Location Change!*** We will be venturing into the town of Kingscourt at Gartlan's Pub for some dinner and Irish music. Buses will be provided to and from the town center. THIS UNIQUE OLD THATCHED ROOF AND WHITEWASHED STONE BUILDING IS AS FULL OF CHARACTER ON THE INSIDE AS IT LOOKS FROM THE OUTSIDE. GARTLAN'S PUB IS LISTED ON RECORDS AND POSTERS AS ONE OF IRELAND'S OLDEST TRADITIONAL PUBS AND ITS PICTURE CAN BE SEEN HANGING ON WALLS ALL OVER THE WORLD. THE BUILDING DATES BACK TO THE MID I700S WHEN KINGSCOURT TOWN WAS BUILT. RUN BY THE GARTLAN FAMILY FOR OVER I00 YEARS IT THEN FELL INTO DISREPAIR AND WAS CLOSED FOR YEARS. IT. HAS NOW BEEN LOVINGLY RESTORED BY PADRAIG & SHEILA SMITH AND HAS ONCE AGAIN OPENED ITS DOORS IN JULY 2016.
