Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Alexandra Rodriguez and Austen Conn
Here's a list of some great places nearby to explore! These are some of the closer spots, but we highly recommend making a trip out of it and checking out some other cool spots just a few hours away. After all, you travelled all the way out here. Might as well make the most of it!
Ronin Fermentation Project

Ronin Fermentation Project

601 Graeagle Johnsville Road, Graeagle, CA 96103

Ronin Fermentation Project provides a unique perspective to new beer styles in addition to respecting the classics. Ronin makes world-class lagers and has also advanced at brewing with Koji, a Japanese fermentation technique, and spontaneous and mixed culture brewing. The brewery has a taproom and comfortable patio where visitors can relax and soak up the fresh Graeagle air.

Eat & Drink

Eat & Drink

There are some great restaurants, grocery stores and cafes in the town of Graeagle, but keep in mind it is a small town so make sure to check what is open before you head over. Bread & Butter, Nicole’s Coffee Shop, and The Vyne are local favorites. Nakoma Resort

Nakoma Resort

348 Bear Run, Clio, CA 96106

Visit the beautiful Nakoma Resort--just 14 minutes south of CVL--for golf, spa, and fine dining. The teepee-inspired Lodge design was conceived in 1923 by the enduringly brilliant Frank Lloyd Wright and built in the heart of the Lost Sierra in 2001. The grand design of the Lodge at Nakoma is the inspiration for the Inn at Nakoma and Altitude, the resort’s mountain-modern recreation center. Taking cues from America’s master architect, Nakoma’s designs focus on the interplay of wood and stone, with interiors naturally lit by expanses of windows and glass.

Bear Lakes and Round Lake Loop Trail

Bear Lakes and Round Lake Loop Trail

Round Lake Trailhead, Blairsden-Graeagle, CA 96103

A 4.1 mile moderately challenging loop trail which takes about 1 hour and 44 minutes to complete. This loop weaves around some of the prettiest lakes, provides some high ridgeline hiking with excellent vantage points and also links to a detour up the 7,812ft tall Mt. Ewell for those looking for even more challenges.

Plumas-Eureka State Park

Plumas-Eureka State Park

310 Graeagle Johnsville Road, Blairsden, CA 96103

This park is a great start for your hiking, camping, fishing, and picnic desires! It's probably the closest park to the venue, but definitely do your research and check out some other cool destination outdoor spots. There are more than 100 lakes in the region, and you can drive or hike to any of them. Some of the local favorites are Gold Lake (and Frazier Falls), Round Lake, Silver Lake, Cub Lake, Little Bear Lake, and Big Bear Lake. AllTrails is your best friend.

Lake Tahoe-Truckee

Lake Tahoe-Truckee

Just 40 miles south sits arguably one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Lake Tahoe is known for its beaches, crystal clear waters, boating, mountain sports, and scenic hikes. Take a clear kayak or paddle board along the shoreline, go jet skiing, take an easy stroll down East Shore Trail, or launch a raft down the Truckee river. Parking can be tricky at some of the popular spots, so plan ahead or take a shuttle. Head to Truckee, California, where the Tahoe National Forest, Donner Memorial State Park and gorgeous Lake Tahoe are at your doorstep. A rich alpine environment supports mountain plants and wildlife, a place that Native Americans, the Donner Party, and early settlers called home. You can also drink, dine, shop, and relax at one of Truckee's many quaint downtown establishments.
