Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

The recommended attire is semi-formal--suit and tie, dress slacks and jacket, mid-length and floor-length dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and nice cocktail dresses are welcome. Keep in mind that we are going for a retro vibe--think 70's desert disco--so if your outfit is on theme then that's even more rad! We want everyone to flex their style and dress to impress.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

If you're not driving or you are not local then, yes, you will most likely need a rental car. Reno-Tahoe airport is about an hour away from the venue and we will be in a pretty remote area so there won't be access to ride services (i.e. Uber, Lyft, and taxi services). If you're traveling in from Sacramento or SF then you'll need to add additional hours to your commute. We highly recommend coordinating flights with other friends and family who are coming so that people can carpool.

Question

Can I modify or cancel my reservation at CVL?

Answer

The short answer is, yes, you can! However, the front desk cannot create, modify, or cancel reservations within group blocks. Please do not contact them for booking or to make any changes to existing reservations. The easiest way to switch a room type is to visit the website, www.chaletviewlodge.com, click on the “check availability” button on the top right, and then scroll to the bottom of that page. You’ll see a dark gray “Modify or Cancel a Reservation or Itinerary” button. Click on that, then search for the reservation by confirmation number (found in the confirmation email in your inbox) or email and password if you created an account. Once logged in, you have full control and can change the reservation date, room type, etc. Upon booking your hotel room, Chalet View Lodge will charge you for one night plus taxes and fees. If you are staying for multiple nights, they will charge the balance for the remaining night(s) upon check-out. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please do so at least 72 hours before check in, and the lodge will issue a 100% refund of your deposit. Unfortunately, if you cancel within the 72-hour window, you forfeit your deposit. If you experience any technical difficulties pertaining to the booking process, please contact Heather Marsh, the Director of Sales, at Heather@chaletview.com.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Although we'd love to host anyone and everyone, weddings are expensive and we ain't rich, folx!! Moreover, we do have a strict guest list. Your invite will be addressed to "[Your name] & [Your guest's name]" if a plus one has been given to you. Also, when you RSVP for yourself, you will see the option to RSVP for your guest as well. If you do not see your guest's information when RSVPing then you did not receive a plus one. Please respect the guest list.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

As much as we would love to meet and see everyone's kids, we do ask that you not bring them with you. Our wedding weekend will be an adults-only affair so that everyone can relax and enjoy the weekend. We kindly request making arrangements ahead of time to leave the kids at home so you can celebrate and get a little wild with us!

Question

When should I book my room?

Answer

We recommend that you book your room ASAP! There are 52 rooms of different accommodations on site and the lodge is able to sleep ~150 people in total. While there should be more than enough room to accommodate everyone, it's all dependent on what rooms people book. We just ask that guests try to avoid booking rooms with more beds than they need so that everyone can stay on site. Reach out to other friends and family who are going and try to coordinate rooms. There are cabins, villas, and resort/hotel-style rooms that all have options of multiple beds. CVL also does not care about maximum occupancy of rooms so feel free to bunk up and save some cash. They also offer cots and roll-away beds upon request.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

The average high at this time of year is in the mid-70s, but keep in mind that we are at elevation and the temperature tends to drop after sunset. Temperatures will most likely get down to the 50s and 40s at night. A good thing to note is that all events are outdoors so plan your attire accordingly. The reception tent will be temperature controlled so everyone should be nice and cozy when inside. If you are planning to wear heels, block heels are recommended. If you are staying multiple days/nights, make sure that you bring outdoor/athletic clothes and bathing suits if you plan to use the lodge's pool or do any hiking/outdoor activities.

Question

I'm arriving from out of town. Can I stay on site sooner than Saturday night?

Answer

You are able to book and stay on site from Thursday October 3 through Sunday October 6. Please just bear in mind that we will be hosting other events leading up to the wedding for close friends and family. We just ask that you respect the privacy of those events.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by July 24, 2024. After that date, booking for our room block will no longer be available. We will have to give our final guest count to the venue and all of our vendors at that point so unfortunately we won't be able to have any late RSVPs or add-on guests. We recommend that you RSVP sooner rather than later so you don't forget!

Question

Question

I still have questions, how should I contact you?

Answer

We ask that you please browse the rest of our website to see if your question is answered anywhere else before reaching out to Austen and I. The best way to contact us is via text, but bear with us if we don't respond promptly as we are going to be busy leading up to the date. You can also check in with friends or family who are invited and see if they can answer your questions. Piggybacking off of that, feel free to reach out if you're unsure who is going that you may know. We can help you find a friend to bunk up, fly, or share a ride with!

Question

PLEASE INFORM US OF ANY ALLERGIES/DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

Answer

We kindly ask that you inform us by July 27, 2024.
