FAQs

If you have any questions at all, please contact Angela (405-833-0399) or August (303-518-0511). We want to help!
Question

How many nights should/can we stay?

Answer

Totally dependent on you/your family. We want this to be a vacation for all, for as long or as short as you want it to be. Augie and Angela will be relocating for a honeymoon the morning of the 28th, but some guests are planning to hang out in Eleuthera for a few more days after that.

Question

Do we have to stay at either Squires Estate or Governors Estate?

Answer

No, but it is strongly encouraged. Aug and Ang chose to get married at this location specifically because of the housing options. It is like a small settlement of adorable houses of different cost ranges and # of rooms so it is nicely equipped for singletons, couples, families, etc. and everyone is within walking distance of everyone. After the wedding night, and the couple has left for their honeymoon, if you would like to relocate to a different area and explore more of Eleuthera or neighboring Harbour Island, we encourage you to do so!

Question

Where do we eat?

Answer

That is always an important question. Each house in Squires Estate and Governors Estate has a fully equipped kitchen so you could make meals if you want! Squires Estate and Governors Estate are both located in Central Eleuthera around Governor's Harbour. There are lots of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance (just a few minutes away!) Liquor store is also very close.

Question

What about Covid?

Answer

Angela and August have tried really hard to be conscious of Covid and don't want any guests to feel unsafe. Eleuthera has had an almost nonexistent number of cases so you won't be traveling to an epicenter by any means. Airports would be the busiest point of contact so we encourage all to wear masks, bring lots of hand sanitizer, etc. We will be following the trends and if Covid spikes again in Spring/Summer 2021, we would reschedule to 2022 for the safety of all our guests. Squires Estate/Governors Estate has ensured me that they are cleaning each house thoroughly with Covid in mind. It is nice that we will not be at a resort/hotel where the risk of exposure would be exponentially greater.

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Beachy cocktail (ie Maxi dresses, linen pants, sandals, etc) Men, maybe save the casual Hawaiian shirts for the rehearsal dinner. Ladies, I’d rethink anything with a heel because of the sand. It will be hot, so please choose breathable fabrics! We won’t know if you are fainting because you’re witnessing our undying love for each other or because of the heat. Please contact us with questions!

Question

Do we bring a wedding gift?

Answer

We would just love it if you were there. Do not feel obligated to give a wedding gift, as we know destination weddings already ask a lot out of each guest. If you still want to send us a gift, we ask that you not bring it with (our luggage will be full-especially Angela’s) but ship directly to our home in Oklahoma. There is a registry tab located at the top of this website for you to view!

Question

What is the currency of the Bahamas?

Answer

You can use USD! No currency exchange needed. Nice! Some restaurants do not take credit cards so it is helpful to have cash on hand. There are a few ATMs on the island but likely includes a fee to use.

Question

Have any packing advice?

Answer

Sunscreen Insect repellent Anti-itch cream, benadryl Sunglasses Hat Passport Cash
