Summer Travel to Alaska
Summer is the busiest season for travel in Alaska - long days, pleasant weather and wildlife viewing - and we're so excited to have each one of you experience one of favorite places! We recommend booking flights, accommodation, rental cars and any additional travel you're planning to do while in Alaska ASAP! Check out our recs for more places to explore in Alaska at the bottom of this page. HOTEL -> We have secured a discount rate for the Aloft (link and details below). Another good option is to look on Airbnb and VRBO for rental options as this may prove to be less costly. RENTAL CAR -> We will have a shuttle to the ceremony and reception for all guests. However, Anchorage doesn't have reliable public transit so if you're planning to extend your stay in Alaska or want to explore more of Anchorage a rental car will be the best way to get around.
Flight
Anchorage International Airport
The only airport in Anchorage is about 15min from the downtown area. Alaska Airlines will have the widest range of available flights. We recommend booking as soon as you can because summer flights tend to fill up fast and prices will increase the closer we get to the wedding date.
Hotel
Aloft Anchorage
This hotel is in centrally located in Midtown Anchorage - 10 min (3 miles) from the airport, 10 min (3 miles) from downtown and 5 min (1 mile) from Moose's Tooth and Wild scoops. We have organized a room block at the Aloft Anchorage with check-in beginning July 31st and check-out on August 3rd. The room rate is $329/night + tax.
