This is an 11 mile paved trail along the coast of Anchorage with beautiful views of Mount Susitna. It's great for walking, running or biking!
Park at the Glen Alps Trail head. This is a 2.8 mile trail that's pretty easy for all abilities (until the top where there is a bit of scrambling). Beautiful views of Anchorage and the surrounding Chugach Mountains. There are plenty of other trails from this parking area as well. If you want something easy, the Powerline Pass trail is perfect!
The Anchorage Museum is dedicated to studying and exploring the land, peoples, art and history of Alaska. The museum also houses the Discovery Center which has interactive exhibits about math, physics and animals. Kids love it (and so did we!)
For a deeper look into all Alaska Native cultures, peoples and ways of life this museum is a must.
Delicious food and beer! The wait can get up to 2 hours in the evening so go early or grab take out if you aren't up for the wait. Our favorite items on the menu are: Diablo bread sticks, Avalanche pizza, Brewhouse favorite pizza with chorizo, Spicy thai chicken pizza and the Backpacker pizza.
Local ice cream with local flavors that change often. There are 3 locations (2 downtown) and one close to Moose's Tooth. We love White Raven, Sitka Swirl and Rhubarb crumble.
This location also has a plant + coffee shop that's too cute! We love all the baked goodies from Fire Island, but especially the breakfast focaccia if you can snag some.
Great beers and awesome views from the deck. If Denali is out, you can see it from here!
Micro-cidery with a lot of seasonal flavors. We haven't had one we didn't like yet!
