Joey and Ashwini met on our first day of work in the "real world." We were staffed on the same consulting project and would fly to Orange County, California every week for work (at the time, Joey was living in Chicago, and Ashwini was living in San Francisco). What started off as a friendship evolved into more and eventually, Ashwini planned their first date in San Francisco at Dolores Park to watch the sunset (Joey liked to claim their second date that he organized was their first, but as you read on you'll see he came around).

We went back to our first date spot, Dolores Park, San Francisco, for a weekend of surprises that Joey planned. Ashwini had no idea what to expect, but Joey had gotten a friend to hand paint clue cards for a scavenger hunt through the Bay Area. A beautiful proposal from Joey (and a resounding yes from Ashwini) was followed by a stop at our favorite brunch restaurant, Kitchen Story, where Ashwini's parents were there to surprise her! From there, Joey's clue card led us to an Italian restaurant where Ashwini met Joey's parents for the first time (before they had even started dating), only to be surprised by Joey's parents! The last clue led Ashwini to our favorite winery in Napa, McKenzie Mueller. Ashwini could not have expected that 15 of her closest friends and family would be there to surprise her and celebrate! It was a weekend we will never forget.

Our first trip when COVID was settling down was to Devil's Thumb Ranch. It was the perfect escape and a much needed "staycation." We had the most memorable weekend going on hikes, fly fishing, and horseback riding. To add to the magic, while on a hike we found out that our (fur) baby Wellington was born! At one point during the weekend, one of us said "Wouldn't this be an amazing place to get married"!? Well here we are! On top of Devil's Thumb being a place near and dear to us, we love our home in Colorado and want to share it with those that mean the most to us.
