A tale old as time: Boy gets message from girl via dating app; he responds with something dorky but quick witted and the two fall madly in love. Ashton takes all the credit for us meeting as she reached out first and that is fine by me. We were both very much more traditional in our dating views but our peers forced us to look to tech to help broaden our horizons and at the very least our dating pool. After weeks of messaging and texting we finally had our first date, albeit impromptu. Ashton couldn't wait until our planned Sunday brunch date so she invited me to join her for cocktails at a bar up the street from my house. Little did I know that she was there with eight of her girlfriends, I guess a girl can never be too safe nowadays. It mattered little though that her friends were there nor that the bar was packed to capacity. The world, those people, and the time melted away as we spoke, connected, and I was lost in her eyes. We closed down the bar that night and I graciously accepted a ride home from her even though my place was a couple blocks away...I wanted more time with her but now I know there will never be enough time. We met again for our official date eight hours later; the date lasted 12 hours, and we both knew from that time on we'd date forever.
