The dress code is black-tie optional. Dress to impress and to dance the night away! Men, feel free to bust out a tux if you have one or your best suit! Ladies, although cocktail dresses are fun, we encourage long dresses and gowns.
Carmel-By-The-Sea averages around 75 for a high and 51 for a low this time of year with a very slight chance of precipitation. The ceremony and reception will be outside and although there will be heaters running in the evening, we would recommend bringing a light jacket / shawl just in case!
The ceremony and reception will take place at Folktale Winery & Vineyards. Although this is a large property, the two events are within approximately 200 feet of each other and do not require a lot of walking. However, you are more than welcome to explore the property and vineyards if you'd like!
All events will take place outdoors. There will be heaters placed in the reception area upon dusk, just in case anyone gets cold. We would recommend bringing a light jacket / shawl, just in case! Please be sure to check the weather prior to packing your bags for CA.
After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the cocktail hour where we will be serving finger foods and beverages. Enjoy some vino and live music.
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! The wedding will also take place at a winery which requires all guests to be 21+.
If you are staying at one of the hotel blocks, a bus will provide transportation to and from the ceremony and reception. check out our Travel & Accommodations page for all the info you need.
You will be sent a meal selection of two protein options and one vegetarian option with your formal invitation. Please note that Folktale Winery and Vineyards serves beer and wine ONLY. Once we have selected the beers (~4 options) and wines (~6 options), we will update the website accordingly. You may drink as much of any of the items as you please.
We are having an intimate wedding due to Covid restrictions and therefore have a strict guest list. Of course we'd love to have everyone there however, our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your save the date & invitation. We hope you understand and can enjoy our intimate affair and celebrate with us and our families!
No. We encourage guests to stay at the Carmel Valley Ranch where the Welcome Party will be hosted. The bride and groom, their families, and wedding party will also be at the Ranch! Enjoy the numerous activities and amazing sights this one of a kind property has to offer at a stellar room block rate!

Yes! The venue has approved and encourages those who choose to drive to leave their vehicles overnight. There is no strict cutoff on when you need to pick them up the next day.
