We originally met in the Catskills, and it's our go-to place when we want to escape the hustle of the city. When we came across The North Branch Inn, we knew it was a perfect spot! We wanted a place where our families and friends could relax all weekend, enjoying the nearby nature and delicious food, and then stumble up to their rooms at the end of the day. We're so excited to spend this weekend with everyone.

The first time Ashley and Scott met was soon after Scott moved to New York City from Minneapolis, in 2012. They were each invited to the Catskills for a relaxing weekend getaway by some mutual friends. It was an amazing weekend – Ashley thought Scott was hilarious and he thought she was cute and friendly... but no signs of romance appeared. A few years later in 2013, they ran into each other at an engagement celebration in Williamsburg. Ashley was happy to see the funny guy from Minnesota, and Scott was thrilled to see the friendly, cute girl he had met upstate. The two chatted for a bit, but there was still no romantic connection… yet. It wasn't until the two saw each other at a CMJ show at The Gutter (where all romantic stories begin) and Scott planted a big kiss on Ashley, that things began to shift. "Round 1" began. They went on a few dates throughout the winter, but without explanation things fizzled out before the spring. “Round 1” was over. Late in the summer of 2014 they crossed paths again. As an art director, Ashley was in the midst of hiring some animators for a project. She had questions and decided to reach out to the only animator she knew. Scott was very helpful, then suggested that they meet for drinks to catch up. Was this a date or a professional meet-up? No one knew. Politely, Scott paid for the drinks and Ashley countered by offering to get them the next time. The two said goodbye. Was it a date? Was it not a date? We’re still wondering. Remember that engagement party in Williamsburg? Well it was time for their friends to get married and they found themselves together yet again. When Scott offered to get Ashley another drink so that she didn’t have to leave the dance floor during a Beyonce song, she knew she found her guy. The two ended up spending the entire following day together, and late that evening made their way back to NYC by bus. Something special had happened. “Round 2” officially began.
