Red River Gorge General Tips

Service in the gorge is limited. From the Slade Exit, head South on KY11 and Miguel's Pizza will be on your left, followed by the climb shop. Take the first left after the climb shop. there will be a field to the left. Park here! A black F150 will arrive to transport you the rest of the way up the hill! set your GPS to: Red River Gorge Retreats Ic-8023T, Slade, KY 40376

Back Country Primitive Camping For the adventurous folks... Stop in at the gas station off the exit and pick up a back country parking permit (roughly $5 last time we were there.) From there, just hike in and set up camp (within requirements printed on permit.) No electric or water hookup... Pack a shovel.

Natural Bridge State Park Road B

Okay, so you aren't quite ready to dig a hole to... well, what bears do in the woods. Natural Bridge State Park has you covered. Camp sites have electric (water hookup for camper sites) and shower houses available. You can be one with nature and still get that bed-head under control. They do also have a lodge! (You can tent camp, camper camp, or stay in a hotel room, essentially)

Look, we get it. You need that cozy bed to sleep in, running water and electric to get your hair just right, WiFi to compensate for lack of service - it's okay. You don't have to explain to us that you're scared of all the wild critters roaming around. Book a cabin with these folks and you'll be about as close to 5-star as the gorge can get...
