The dress code is Summer Cocktail—light, breezy, and stylish, perfect for a warm-weather celebration! For women, we recommend short or long dresses or chic jumpsuits in airy fabrics and spring-inspired colors. Think soft pastels, floral prints, or vibrant hues that embrace the season. Men should opt for suits or dress pants with a blazer and a button-down shirt—ties are optional but always a nice touch. Light fabrics like linen or seersucker will keep you looking sharp while staying cool in the summer heat. Whether you're adding a splash of color or sticking to classic neutrals, aim for an outfit that’s comfortable yet polished. Rowing blazers are welcome! A couple of practical notes: We suggest bringing a shawl or light jacket for cooler evening temperatures. The ceremony will take place on a grassy hill, so consider shoes accordingly—heels may be tricky, but the rest of the evening’s events will be held indoors on solid floors. We’ll also have a few pairs of dancing/grass-walking shoes available for anyone who needs them!

Please plan to arrive at the venue by 3:30 PM to allow time for seating! The wedding shuttle will depart from the Hilton Garden Inn at 2:45 PM.

How do I get to the venue?
Answer
Our beautiful venue is located just 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville (directions below). For our out-of-town visitors, there will be a free wedding shuttle to and from the Hilton Garden Inn (1793 Richmond Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911). Free parking is available at the hotel for shuttle passengers. The shuttle will depart from the Hilton Garden Inn promptly at 2:45 PM. If you plan to drive to the venue, directions can be a bit tricky. The ceremony and reception will take place at The Lodge at Mount Ida Farm (5931 Blenheim Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22902). We recommend adding Middle Oak Baptist Church (4735 Presidents Rd, Scottsville, VA 24590) as a stop on your route to make sure you arrive at the correct entrance. DIRECTIONS from I-64 to THE LODGE: -Take Exit 121 Scottsville/Charlottesville -Head toward Scottsville (left off exit) onto Route 20 South (travel approx. 6-7 miles) -Turn LEFT onto Carter Mountain Road, then- -Turn IMMEDIATE RIGHT onto Secretary Road (travel approx. 3 miles until you reach 4-way stop) -At 4 way stop Turn RIGHT onto Blenheim Road (travel approx. 2.5 to 3 miles) -Turn LEFT onto Moonlight Drive, the gate will be open (you will see black and gold sign that says “THE LODGE“) *Note: if you reach a one lane bridge you've gone too far, turn around.
