Our favorite restaurant, set in an old schoolhouse with a hilltop sunset view that can't be beat. The globally inspired menu of small, shareable plates changes seasonally, but our favorites that they always have on rotation include the Bao Buns, Harissa Cauliflower, and Georgian Flatbread (the egg yolk sounds weird at first, but trust us). During the day, it operates as a market serving coffee, breakfast, and lunch options. Weekends fill up for dinner, so make sure to snag a reservation!
Our first date spot, a local coffee shop in walking distance from Libby Hill Park. We almost exclusively keep their Church Hill roast (Hazelnut and Cinnamon) stocked up at home for our morning brews.
Best ice cream spot in the city! Their flavors rotate weekly (keep an eye out for "What the Fluff").
Our favorite bakery for pastries and sweets. Go for the chocolate almond croissant and confetti sandwich cookie!
If you've ever thought, "mini golf is great, but it'd be even better in an old hotel..." then this is the place for you! The Lobby Bar is also a fun vibe for a drink and/or bite on either side of your round.
A Richmond staple sandwich shop, situated on the corner of one of the most picturesque blocks in The Fan. They'll pack your lunch in a picnic basket if you're feeling like a cutie-pie and want to eat in the park across the street. (On weekends, order ahead for pickup.)
This section of West Cary Street is lined with many of Richmond's favorite local shops and restaurants. Some of our top spots are: Can Can Brasserie | Bistro with a French onion soup that's to die for Fabrik and Lou Lou Boutiques | Responsible for most of Ashton's wardrobe Chewy's Bagels | It's not New York, but you can deal at least for this weekend :)
Maybe Richmond's most famous brewery, this location also serves some of the best tacos around (highly recommend the Quesabirria).
You'll see this Greek establishment at the top of most RVA restaurant lists, and for good reason. Good luck getting a dinner reservation, but pro tip: try for lunch or walk in when they open around 4-5 pm. If all else fails, check out their Stella's Grocery locations across the street or in Scott's Addition for more takeout-ready versions of things like souvlaki and falafel.
