Spots are being held for a sunset live music cruise in the late afternoon/early evening on July 5. This is an optional activity – FYI, Ashley and Marley are not joining, but Jay will be on-board “Ka’anapali’s FUN BOAT.” The catamaran picks up and drops off on the beach in front of the Westin. As if a restaurant and rock & roll art gallery owned by the drummer of Fleetwood Mac wasn't enough, on Wednesdays and Friday-Sunday "The Mad Bagpiper" performs a sunset ceremony on the rooftop deck. Live music multiple times daily. Reservations are highly recommended. Fleetwood's takes reservations 31 days in advance.
A conch shell and torch lighting signal the start of the nightly ritual of Lele Kawa, or cliff diving. One by one the torches are lit as the diver makes his way to Black Rock. Once he reaches the summit he offers his torch and a flower lei to the ocean and takes the plunge. You can watch for free from the nearby Sheraton or anywhere along the north end of Ka'anapali Beach.
