A Kurti/Kurta/Salwar Kameez is the easiest of all the outfits. It consists of a longer, tunic-style shirt with pants and a dupatta (shawl) for an extra touch of fanciness.

A Sari is likely what you think of when picturing Indian clothing. It is made up of a blouse and a single piece fabric that is wrapped around the person to create the outfit. If you would like to borrow a sari, add it to your RSVP. We do have a limited supply and family will receive priority reservations! Regardless of if you borrow or get your own, we will tell you what to bring, show you how to wear one, and help you put it on!

A lehenga is often the most elaborate option. It is a three-piece outfit, a blouse, skirt, and dupatta. The fabric is usually hand-embroidered and tailored to the individual. These are often easier to put on for first time wearers and can be done with minimal help. There are definitely some affordable options out there! Karen likes wearing these more than saris. ;)

A Sherwani is similar to a Kurta but is like a jacket instead of a shirt. Think of a western style suit jacket but it goes down to the mid-thigh or knee. There are some really nice options out there that can be utilized outside of Indian events. If you are looking for some new formal wear, Arjun loves his sherwanis.
