We're getting married

We met during the holiday season of 2021 when I had just started working at Divots and he was a regular who came in with his friends. At the time, I was very much in my “not dating, not interested, absolutely not” era after getting out of a rough relationship — so naturally, that’s exactly when love decided to show up. What started as easy conversations quickly turned into something we both couldn’t ignore. We talked about everything, laughed a lot, and realized we had way more in common than we expected — including both playing soccer in high school. One day, after I mentioned missing the sport, he casually said he was “starting a co-ed soccer league” and asked for my number so he could invite me. (There was never a soccer league… but somehow, that part still worked.) From there, one hangout turned into another, and suddenly we were spending nearly every day together. I slowly became part of his friend group, and without even realizing it, best friends turned into something so much more. Somewhere between the late nights, the nonstop laughing, and the comfort of always choosing each other, we fell in love — the kind of love that feels safe, exciting, and like home all at once. Almost three years later, he planned a weekend trip to Seattle with our best friends. It was filled with all our favorite things — adventures around the city, flowers at Pike Place, and even a trip to the zoo (one of my happy places). What I didn’t know was that he was secretly counting down to one last stop: a “quick hike” to a waterfall… perfectly chosen for someone who is obsessed with waterfalls. With our friends and a hidden photographer waiting, he finally asked the question — and I completely blacked out, cried, laughed, and said yes through happy tears. It wasn’t polished or planned on my part, but it was real, emotional, and perfectly us. Now, we get to say “I do” to our best friend and forever teammate, and we couldn’t be more excited to start this next chapter together.
