Getting There & Getting Home

Overall, direct flights to/from Boston (BOS) to Barcelona (BCN) are available frequently via Iberia/Level, Delta, and now JetBlue airlines. GETTING THERE: If you're not arriving early, there's only 3 direct flights to Barcelona on Sunday, 10/11: 1. Delta 7:20pm-8:35am 2. JetBlue 8:13pm-9:45am 3. Iberia 11:50pm-1pm Since Villa Rosa's check-in isn't until 2pm, we recommend Iberia so you'e not waiting around the airport (it's also the cheapest). However, depending on what people choose, we will try to coordinate a shuttle to be as convenient as possible for most. AIRPORT SHUTTLE UPDATE - A large group will be arriving at 2:30pm and we'll likely organize the shuttle around them at 3/3:30 so they can gather bags/deplane etc. However, if another large group arrives earlier we can look into a 3rd shuttle. GETTING HOME: There's only 3 direct flights to Boston on Thursday, 10/15: 1. JetBlue 12:50-3:40pm 2. Delta 3:15-5:45pm 3. Iberia 6:30-9:15pm Villa Rosa's check-out is 11am. We'll being offering a shuttle service to the airport and with it being 30 min away, we'd assume we'd get there around 12 (baking in some wiggle room). The most relaxed flights, then, would be Delta or Iberia, but if most people are preferring JetBlue please let us know and we can likely arrange a shuttle to arrive earlier for that cohort. Ultimately, choose whichever flight is best for you!

ARRIVAL: Since most people are arriving at different times, we have arranged two shuttles to Villa Rosa to make your entry as seamless as possible. For those who are arriving early and are staying in Barcelona, one shuttle will be available to pick you up downtown. If you're flying in that Monday from the States or another European destination, we will have a second shuttle at the airport. The Barcelona shuttle meet up time is 1pm. Exact address is TBD. The airport shuttle meet up time is TBD depending on flights. DEPARTING: We will have two shuttles leaving Villa Rosa on the 15th. One will go to the airport, and the other will go back to Barcelona for those who plan to extend their stay locally.

Travel Visa

Starting in "late 2026," US citizens (under 18 and over 70 are exempt!) are required to get ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) approval to enter many European countries in the Schengen zone - including Spain. We'll keep you updated on the rollout/process, but it will just require you to fill out some information and pay a €20 fee (approval should be within 24 hours).

What To Pay & When To Book

Prices vary depending on the dates, airline, and premium comfort level, but expect $500-900 roundtrip for economy. In terms of timing, its tough to say precisely when you should book. Some say as far out as possible, and some like to wait until 3 months or so before. We’ll leave that up to you, your budget, and your risk tolerance.

Flight Length: 7h15 (BOS>BCN), 8h20 (BCN>BOS). Timezone: Barcelona is 6 hours ahead of Boston. Other Transport: Taxis, buses, and the metro are all available in Barcelona just like any major city. For ride share apps, you can find Uber or Bolt ; Lyft is not available.
