Our Story

10 years in the making...

Picture it - Pride Month in New York City and the year was 2016. Archie and his friends were enjoying the festivities at Boxer’s Hell’s Kitchen (the original location - real ones know!), two-stepping to whichever pop divas were playing on the outdoor speakers. Archie’s friend Mike announced he had invited this LA guy he met at last night’s Brooklyn dance party to stop by. Meanwhile, across town, Tom was still reeling from the news of the Brexit vote in the UK, but was determined to enjoy his remaining few days visiting NYC. While on his way to Central Park for the afternoon, Tom decided to swing by Boxer's to meet up with Mike and his friends. Tom introduced himself to the group and eventually Archie and Tom found themselves engaged in conversation while overlooking the party in the streets below. Being from the greater New York City area, Archie was excited to meet Tom because he was enamored with the idea of moving to LA one day. He had lots of questions for Tom, the native Ohioan, who had already been in LA for nine years at that point. Tom had a passion for Film. Archie had a passion for TV. The two thought each other were cute, but Tom had to get going, so an Instagram “follow” would have to suffice for now. And Archie couldn’t help but wonder…“Maybe I’ll see him in LA one day.” As luck would have it, a new job had Archie relocate to LA four months later. We'd also later come to find out, that one way flight to LA was on Tom's birthday (October 5th). Archie and Tom would randomly see each other around the city for nearly three years before Tom finally slid into Archie’s DMs and they went on their first date in March 2019. Over the years since then, with a healthy balance of Tom’s delusional optimism and Archie’s practical pessimism, together they’ve survived a global pandemic, leaving old jobs and starting new jobs, the lifestyle change of being dog dads, moving in together, and building a life together. And now it’s time to write the next chapter.
