Big Bend National Park - Driving
Hiking isn't the only way to enjoy the park. There are some wonderful exhibits and scenic routes that we encourage you to enjoy. Black Jack's Crossing
Experience incredible scenic views of Big Bend and the Rio Grande on this unique Texas golf course that inspires and challenges even PGA professionals. Golf Magazine calls Black Jack’s Crossing the “Most Beautiful Course in Texas”.
River Trips
If you have the time and a spirit of adventure, you may want to consider a river trip! Depending on the current river levels, you might be able to experience Santa Elena Canyon from the middle of the Rio Grande.
Fossil Discovery Exhibit
At the Fossil Discovery Exhibit visitors can experience the changes to Big Bend's plants and animals, and the world they lived in, through 130 million years of geologic time. Specimens from Big Bend's remarkable fossil record and vivid artwork illustrate the fascinating story of Big Bend's ancient life. A short trail also leads to a panoramic view of nearby geologic points of interest, and highlights the sediments that protect Big Bend's fossils.
