Labeled as one of the best venues to see a live show, you have to check out a Red Rocks show. The schedule updates regularly, but you will want to buy tickets in advance. Bring a warm jacket because it can and does snow in October – on the flip side it could also be 70 degree weather. That's Colorado for you.
As you know, Jon & Carrie love to tackle escape rooms wherever they go. Mystic Escape Rooms is located in historic Downtown Littleton, you can spend a day walking around the hole-in-the-wall shops, grab a cocktail at The Lazy Greyhound and eat amazing fondue at the Melting Pot. Top off your night with a local theatre production at The Town Hall Arts Center.
It's October – which means spooky fun hits the Apple household. Every year Jon & Carrie put on an Oktoberfest of fun and haunted activities for their friends and family to join. This includes a pumpkin carving contest, haunted escape rooms, haunted houses but most importantly, the Haunted Field of Screams. If you love corn mazes and the thrill of zombies, monsters and things that go bump in the night, this is the largest corn maze attraction in Colorado.
Fondue for two please! One of Jon & Carrie's favorite spots is at The Melting Pot. Located in Downtown Littleton in the historic Littleton Library, a food experience awaits you. The a-la-carte menu allows you to pick & choose all options for your 4 course meal. Looking for a recommendation? Wisconsin Cheese, California Salad, Coq au vin cooking style (try all the sauces) and finish your night with either the Smores or Turtle dessert. You will need to make reservations in advance! Sooner the better.
Looking for authentic italian food? Parisi is Carrie's all time favorite restaurant. Owned by first generation Italians, their cafe is always packed because the food is to die for. C&J's favorite go to includes coccoli, caprese salad, gorgonzola risotto and a scoop of salted caramel gelato. Parisi is located on a fun and lively street called Tennyson St. where you can visit local artists, eat great food and end the night by seeing a show at the Oriental Theatre.
Canvas & cocktails meets crafting extravaganza. Looking to create something fun other than a painting while sipping your favorite mixed drink? Upstairs Circus is a unique experience where you get to choose between 20+ crafts to makes (think concrete, wood, leather etc.). All supplies are pre-measured and given to you with detailed instructions. Not super creative? Don't worry, they have tons of examples and stencils to choose from.
If you are wanting a delicious breakfast, check out The Original Pancake House. (Heads up, this is not iHOP.) Get the omelet smothered in sausage gravy, you won't regret it. Jon & Carrie take all of their out-of-town friends to this delicious spot. Make reservations in advance as this is a popular spot in the morning!
We have a delicious brewery nearby. Schedule a tour and get a wide selection to taste from. They also have an attached restaurant where you can order a flight while chowing down on delicious grub. Try the elk burger with their fries and a pint on the side.
In the season of spook, check out this amazing Denver based attraction. This is Jon & Carrie's favorite haunted house, get the all access pass as there are mini escape rooms, a dark room, axe throwing and more. Make a whole night of it and snack on local food trucks outside.
