It all started on a VERY rainy morning. Ashleigh had just graduated from college and had no idea what to do next. So she decided to take a summer job working with kids. Joshua just finished his freshman year of college, and was returning to the place he spent his summers for the last 15 years. It was orientation day (Ashleigh was running late per usual), and Joshua had a broken foot waiting for the day to begin. Orientation was just getting underway, and a typical flustered and tired Ashleigh walked in the door soaking wet, not knowing at all what was happening. Ashleigh put on her nametag, and sat in the only seat available, which of course was right next to Joshua. He took one look at her, saw the description on her nametag, and thought to himself, "So this is my boss for the summer." Spoiler alert, ladies and gentlemen, it was definitely not love at first sight. May, June, and most of July went by, they were barely even friends, but always made sure to have each other's back. Then after a very eventful day at work in late July, Ashleigh was being attacked in the group chat by a very disgruntled counselor. Joshua wanted to see how Ashleigh felt about what was being said, so he took it upon himself to private message her directly to see what was going on. They then spent the next few weeks staying up WAY too late talking to each other and getting to know one another. Sparks were definitely igniting, but with Ashleigh's phenomenal acting skills while at work, Joshua was getting mixed signals. So with only a couple weeks before the end of the summer, and Joshua going back to school, he decided to shoot his shot, and ask Ashleigh out on an unofficial date "as friends." On a Friday they went out for Thai, and then went bowling, and Joshua was hooked. Joshua went over the next night where they watched a movie and shared their first kiss. Finally, Monday, August 20th, 2018 rolled around, and back to work it was. Ashleigh kept up her acting, and Joshua was not at all focused on her because his ex, who just happened to work with them the whole summer, started a huge argument that put Joshua in a pretty bad mood the whole day. By the end of the day, Joshua was exhausted, needed to vent his frustrations, and needed a bit of cheering up. So he went back to Ashleigh's, he vented, she cheered him up, and then they watched The Greatest Showman. With no intentions of doing so, before they kissed and said goodbye, Joshua decided to take a risk that would change his life forever. He asked Ashleigh to be his girlfriend, and with zero hesitation, she said yes! Fast forward 3 years, 3 months, and 28 days, Ashleigh was once again graduating, this time with her Master's, and Joshua yet again decided to take a risk with less than 2 weeks to plan. After the commencement ceremony, in front of most of her family, Joshua got down on one knee and asked Ashleigh to marry him. This time she really did not know what to say as she was completely in shock, and responded with an "Uhhh yeah?" And now here they are, counting down the number of days until they say "I do."
