Flight
If traveling directly to Hydra after landing, you will need to take a Taxi or Metro to Piraeus harbor to catch the ferry. If staying in Athens for the day, you can take a Taxi or Metro to your destination. Be mindful to plan enough time the next day to get to the ferry harbor.
Travel Note
To get to the ferry (hydrafoil) to Hydra, you’ll first need to make your way to the port of Piraeus in Athens. The easiest way to get there is by taking a taxi or using the Athens metro system. Taxi: You can prebook a taxi through this link: https://www.thegreektaxi.com/ or catch one outside of the airport. Taxis are located between Exits 2 &3. Taxi's are about 60 Euros ($62.79). Metro: The metro line 1 (Green Line) takes you directly to the Piraeus station. The metro leaves from the airport station every 30 minutes. It takes about 50 minutes to arrive at Piraeus station from the airport. The station is a few blocks from the boats departure gate. There are several ferry options available to get to Hydra, with varying speeds and schedules. Some ferries are faster, but they may not align with your preferred departure or arrival times. When booking your departure it should be from Piraeus to Hydra. If you plan to island hop you can book multi way tickets at once. Common islands to visit near are Poros and Spetses.
