While living in Los Angeles, Alida traveled to Denver in 2022 to visit her mom. During that trip, she went on two dates with Antoine and because he so proudly proclaimed to have "The Best Mountain Sunset View", she agreed to take a walk back to our now apartment to assess what caliber of beauty we were talking about. Little did she know, that apartment would soon be her home, and they'd wake up together to the view of snowcapped mountains. A year later, they reconnected and in the process of trying to see where they could meet that was in between Los Angeles and Denver, a wild idea was proposed. Antoine had already booked an adventure to Norway and Denmark and invited Alida to join. A third date in Scandinavia? What could go wrong?! Ten days were spent exploring the Norwegian countryside where Alida's paternal ancestors once lived, sweating it out in a floating sauna and then jumping into the frigid Oslo Fjord, and soaking in art and design in Copenhagen. In the spring of 2024, Alida said farewell to her California chapter. After a cross-country move through both the desert and a mountain blizzard, they made it to Denver! They learned firsthand what it means to take a Big Leap into the unknown and celebrate all that comes with having open hearts and trusting that what is for you will be!!! Nature and travel have been such anchors and teachers, shaping their dynamic and comforting their growing pains. The last two years have been full–with adventures to Vancouver Island, a relay half marathon in Santa Barbara, camped in Minnesota, enjoyed the ocean in North Carolina, listened to live jazz in Chicago, climbed a 14-er (Brown Mountain) and tons of camping in Colorado, traveled back to Antoine's home country of Côte d'Ivoire, spent Christmas Day in Paris, Alida's birthday in Austin, the 4th of July in New Mexico and will be taking Alida's mom to Charleston & Savannah this summer!
