We hope you can join us for our Traditional Tlacoluense Wedding in Tlacolula de Matamoros, Oaxaca, Mexico. We would love for everyone to be there but understand with everyone’s schedules, travel restrictions, health or financial status you might not be able to come we totally understand. We know it won’t be the same but we will have a celebration when we return. We are beyond excited to begin this journey!

Esperamos que pueda unirse a nuestra boda tradicional tlacoluense en Tlacolula de Matamoros, Oaxaca, México. Nos encantaría que todos estuvieran allí, pero entendemos que con los horarios, las restricciones de viaje, la salud o el estado financiero de todos, es posible que no pueda venir, lo entendemos totalmente. Sabemos que no será lo mismo, pero tendremos una celebración cuando regresemos. ¡Estamos más que emocionados de comenzar este viaje!

Like all good “how we met” stories, this one starts in a bar. On Tuesday, May 10, 2011 one of my good friends, Andrea, had invited me to go out to celebrate the Chicago Bulls being in the playoffs at Joe's on Weed Street. It had been many years since I'd seen or hung out with Andrea so I was excited to see her. At first I didn’t want to go alone but was too excited to see my friend. Andrea met me in front and took me where her group was hanging out. While standing there I was looking at this beautiful group of people to try and see if I really knew or recognized anyone, there were a couple familiar faces but one in particular that caught my eye. There we were the two of us and Rodo at the bar taking shots and ordering $2 pitchers when Anthony asked me if I wanted to dance. We danced the night away, got to know each other a little, and found each other on Facebook. Two nights later we saw each other again at The Apartment in Lincoln Park, where Anthony asked me to go on our first date the next day. We went to see Thor and after the movie I didn’t want the night to end and neither did he, so we ended up Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chinatown. And ever since then it has been an adventure.

Como todas las buenas historias de "cómo nos conocimos", esta comienza en un bar. El martes 10 de mayo de 2011, una de mis buenas amigas, Andrea, me invitó a salir a celebrar que los Chicago Bulls están en los playoffs en Joe's en Weed Street. Habían pasado muchos años desde que había visto o salido con Andrea, así que estaba emocionada de verla. Al principio no quería ir solita, pero estaba muy emocionada de ver a mi amiga. Andrea se encontró conmigo en el frente y me llevó a donde estaba su grupo. Mientras estaba allí, mirando a este hermoso grupo de personas para tratar de ver si realmente conocía o reconocía a alguien, había un par de caras conocidas, pero una en particular que me llamó la atención. Allí estábamos nosotros dos y mi amigo Rodolfo en el bar tomando fotos y pidiendo cervezas de $ 2 cuando Anthony me preguntó si quería bailar. Bailamos toda la noche, nos conocimos un poco y nos encontramos en Facebook. Dos noches más tarde nos volvimos a ver en The Apartment en Lincoln Park, donde Anthony me pidió que fuera a nuestra primera cita al día siguiente. Fuimos a ver a Thor y después de la película no quería que terminara la noche y él tampoco, así que terminamos en Ping Tom Memorial Park en Chinatown. Y desde entonces ha sido una aventura.

Two days before Vanessa's graduation... Anthony and Vanessa's brother Dave had come up with a clever plan to have dinner. Vanessa had the impression that she was going to have dinner with her brother and sister-in-law. While driving with Anthony to the restaurant in China Town, Dave called Vanessa and told her they’re stuck in traffic. All was going as planned! Vanessa and Anthony parked close to the restaurant and Anthony played it cool and asked if Vanessa wanted to take a walk to Ping Tom park. Vanessa received a phone call from her sister Nancy while they were walking. Anthony hopes she wouldn’t spill the beans, but instead it served as a great distraction. After avoiding a huge fight with a pack of hissing geese, Vanessa and Anthony were standing near the river. Anthony had kept the movie tickets they went to on their first date, it was two tickets to see Thor. After showing Vanessa the tickets and saying a few words Anthony asked the most important question of his life. The rest is history!

Dos días antes de la graduación de Vanessa ... Anthony y el hermano de Vanessa, Dave, habían ideado un plan inteligente para cenar. Vanessa tuvo la impresión de que iba a cenar con su hermano, cuñada, y sobrinos. Mientras conducía con Anthony al restaurante en China Town, Dave llamó a Vanessa y le dijo que estaban atrapados en el tráfico. ¡Todo iba como estaba previsto! Vanessa y Anthony se estacionaron cerca del restaurante y Anthony jugó con calma y preguntó si Vanessa quería dar un paseo hasta el parque Ping Tom. Después de evitar una gran pelea con un grupo de gansos silbando, Vanessa y Anthony estaban parados cerca del río. Anthony había guardado las entradas de la película a las que asistieron en su primera cita, eran dos entradas para ver a Thor. Después de mostrarle a Vanessa los boletos y decir algunas palabras, Anthony hizo la pregunta más importante de su vida. ¡El resto es historia!
