Flight
As we progress toward October, we highly encourage our guest to plan their itinerary soon to ensure the best rates and flight schedules. It is usually recommended to book flights within 5-6 months before your anticipated travel date, and set alerts for upcoming price trends for the best rates. We recommend to check multiple platforms such as Skyscanner, Google Flights, and Expedia to compare flight prices. We also encourage you to check resources like SeatMap.com when selecting seats to compare aircraft comfortability. Milan has two airports, Malpensa and Linate. Both are technically located in Milan, the only difference being size and distance to the most centric part of Milan. MXP is a larger international hub, and will usually have a larger selection of arrival/departure times. However it is also on the outskirts of Milan so expect a commute close to 45 minutes to the city. LIN is a smaller hub, with less variety but is closer to the city requiring a shorter commute from the airport. Both are great choices! For those looking to visit more than one country or city, we recommend searching for flights using the "Multi-City" option. Multi-city allows for flexible travel itinerary where you can visit multiple destinations in one journey without returning to your starting point (e.g., fly into Milan, fly out of Rome). Often times this is more economic than purchasing separate flights for arrival and departure.
Travel Note
Our wedding events will take place in the town of Laglio, located in the Lombardia province on the west side of Lake Como. For guests renting a car, the drive from Milan to Laglio takes just under one hour and offers the most flexible option, allowing you to stop at your convenience and take in the views around Lake Como and the Italian Alps. Ride-sharing services are quite limited in the area and although taxis are convenient, they are not always the most budget friendly option. If you're not planning to rent a car, no need to worry! You can easily reach our destination by combining train and bus services. Your journey will begin at Milano Centrale, where you'll take the Trenord or Trenitalia train to Como San Giovanni Station. The total travel time is typically 40-60 minutes. Trenord trains operate every hour, totaling 17 trains a day as low as $7. Upon arrival, be sure to map your route to your hotel or Airbnb. If you're staying in Laglio or Cernobbio, you'll want to catch the bus located in front of the station. Alternatively, you can arrange a taxi or car service directly from the station to your accommodation. Under “View” we’ve added the direct link to Trenord to purchase tickets. Arrival to the villa can be done by taxi, ride share services if available, water taxi and private boat! Villa Regina Teodolinda has their own private dock so feel free to check out the lake views before you join us for the celebrations!
