Polis Crysochous, 8820, Cyprus

We are organizing a group boat trip during our wedding weekend, but for those unable to make that date we highly recommend a boat trip from the fishing village of Latchi to the Blue Lagoon tucked away in the Northwest Cape of the Akamas National Park. There you can enjoy crystal clear waters and beautiful views of the national park. It’s truly a site not to be missed! There are several tour agencies offering a cruise around the blue lagoon Cyprus and many reasonably priced options if you cannot make our group trip.

Tombs of the Kings Avenue

Tombs of the Kings Avenue

Tombs of the Kings Avenue, Paphos, Paphos, Cyprus

Located 2km north of Kato Pafos, The Tombs of the Kings is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The tombs are unique in Cyprus, being heavily influenced by ancient Egyptian tradition, when it was believed that tombs for the dead should resemble houses for the living. The seven excavated tombs are scattered over a wide area, with the most impressive being No 3, which has an open atrium below ground level, surrounded by columns. It can be very hot and sunny, so plan your trip outside peak hours from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. There are many steps and sandy terrain, so wear comfortable footwear and clothing so you can explore all the site has to offer. Please note there is a nominal fee for entrance. Pafos Buses to Coral Bay stop right outside the entrance (€1.50, 5 minutes), departing roughly every 15 minutes from the Harbour Bus Station.

Marking the start of the Cape Greco national forest park, there are impressive rock bridges, hidden caves and tunnels. As well as being amazing to look at, the sea caves extend for up to 80 metres underground and are only partially submerged. Keep in mind that there are no conveniences, rescue services or shade at the location, so go well prepared with water, a hat and sunscreen. Reach the caves either via a bumpy, pebbly dirt road or by one of the boats embarking from Ayia Napa. If you drive eastwards from Ayia Napa towards Protaras, turn left at the first sign for the Grecian Park Hotel and Cape Greco and shortly after, turn right onto a dirt track which leads to the sea caves. Spot the dirt road by a lone carob tree in a field with a bench under it, so if you miss the sign you should be able to notice the tree.
