Question

When/Where is the Wedding Ceremony Taking Place?

Answer

We are excited to announce that we are tying the knot on June 10, 2024, in Peyia, Paphos, Cyprus! We know a destination wedding is a lot to ask, so for those who can't make the journey, please join us for our wedding reception in New Jersey on June 30, 2024.

Question

What Will The Weather Be Like In Cyprus?

Answer

Summer in Cyprus is beautiful! But please plan accordingly as the weather in June is sunny and warm. Daily high temperatures increase from 78°F to 84°F in June, rarely falling below 75°F or exceeding 88°F. In June and generally during the summer, you will only need very light summer clothes and your swimming suit!

Question

What Is The Closest Airport?

Answer

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights available from New Jersey to Cyprus, but there a number of airlines that fly from Newark or NYC to Larnaca with a quick layover in a number of European cities. Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is the country's main airport and is where you will find the most available arrival and departure flights. However, we will be tying the knot in Paphos on the west side of the island, which is about an hour and half drive from Larnaca. You also have the option of flying directly into Paphos International Airport (PFO), but flights may be more limited at this airport. Please advise us of your travel plans so that we can coordinate transportation arrangements, if possible.

Question

Should We Rent A Car for Cyprus?

Answer

While there is public and private transportation available throughout the island, having a car rental in Cyprus is a great way to get around the island, and something we highly recommend. There are so many great places to see in Cyprus, and a lot of those are a little more difficult to get to without a car. Fortunately, there are a number of automatic and manual car rental companies available right at the airport and you do not require any special licenses to drive a car other than your valid U.S. driver's license. However, please note that in Cyprus they drive on the left side of the road. Please make sure that you are extra cautious driving since all of us are used to driving on the right side of the road :) Please also note that rental companies on the Greek side of the island won't allow their cars to cross over to the Turkish side. So if you plan on crossing over the border, you will need to keep your car parked on the Greek side, and then get a taxi over to the Turkish side. With that being said, driving in a new country can be scary and roads, rules, and weather conditions vary greatly around the world. Therefore, if you do not plan on renting a car there are still private and public transportation available, and many restaurants and stores are within walking distance of the hotel.

Question

What's Happening in Cyprus Before/After the Wedding?

Answer

We are planning a few pre and post wedding events in Paphos for the wedding, but if you are planning on staying in Cyprus for the week (or longer) we highly recommend spending some time in Protaras or Ayia Napa on the east side of the island before or after the wedding. Ayia Napa is a Mediterranean resort town on the southeast coast of Cyprus, known for its beautiful beaches and should not be missed! Please refer to our Things to Do Page, as well as our travel page for recommendations for places to stay and things to do in both Paphos and Ayia Napa.
