Ted's Most Best
Annika's favorite pizza joint (Florentine pizza, hands down) and where we met up on our 2nd (or was it 3rd?) date. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Salads, appetizers, pizza, calzones, are all very good. $
Big City Bread Cafe
Our go-to breakfast and brunch spot. American-French cuisine that is truly delicious. All bread is made in-house and their display cabinet has even better treats inside. They also do a great French-inspired dinner, but it is a bit more expensive than their morning hours. $$
The Grit
Athen's beloved Vegetarian restaurant. They serve brunch on weekends (mimosa, please!) and breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. If you fall in love with it they even have a cookbook you can buy to take home with you! $$
Mama's Boy Restaurant
There are two locations- this one is the original. This place is always popping! Handmade biscuits, homemade jams, you can even order a slice of chocolate cake for breakfast! They don't judge! If you can wait out the crowd this place is a go-to for a sweet (and savory) Southern breakfast/brunch. $$
Last Resort Grill
Far from being a "last resort" this restaraunt offers low-country and southern roots with a twist of class. Dinner usually costs more than lunch but the food is impeccable no matter what time you go. This place can be very busy. $$
Five and Ten
One of the best restaurants in town if you are looking to be fancy and want to have a food experience. Also, a great location to just have a drink and appetizers (but still be fancy). $$$
State Botanical Garden of Georgia
Free to all visitors. Take a stroll through the gardens, conservatory, or on the hiking trails.
Founders Memorial Garden
Located on UGA's historic North Campus, small curated garden that's a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of Broad Street.
Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden
Located on UGA's campus. Annika worked here the summer of 2016 helping maintain some one of a kind specimen that have been thoughtfully collected in Latin America and sent to UGA.
UGA Trial Gardens
UGA's Trial Garden located on South Campus for the purpose of trialing new plants that have yet come to the consumer market.
Wonderbar
Arcade-themed bar where you can enjoy a game-inspired drink while playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart on a GameCube, Foosball, or other arcade-style games for free.
The Rook & Pawn
Grab a board game off the wall (plenty to choose from) order a drink and some appetizers and go to town with your friends playing a new board game or playing something traditional like Catan.
Georgia Theatre
Where we spent our first two dates- and many after that! Catch a live show or enjoy a drink on their rooftop balcony. For more live shows check out LiveWire, 40 Watt Club, or Flicker Theatre & Bar (among others).
