Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Anna Hayes and Enmanuel Rojas
We're so grateful that so many guests are traveling to Portsmouth for the big day! Thank you! Whether you're here for a day or so, or making a trip out of it, here are a few of our favorite places and some things to do:
La Mulita Coffee

La Mulita Coffee

15 Sagamore Road, Rye, NH 03870

Max is the best! You might see our fav barista, Heather, too! After getting coffee, you could drive the Seacoast or stop by the Seacoast Science Center.

Annabelle's Natural Ice Cream

Annabelle's Natural Ice Cream

49 Ceres Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

Walking distance from the hotel and named after The Bride!

State Street Saloon

Home of the $9.99 lobster roll! Bit of a dive bar. We love it!

Can't go wrong with the lobster sushi here! Great view of the water too!

Seacoast Science Center

Home of the rare split blue lobstah and a blue lobstah, the SSC has parking and trails around it - perfect for kiddos! Touch tanks too!

Wallis Sands Beach

One of Anna, Emma, and Izzy's many summer job of the past! Great for a walk or beach day!

Roundabout Diner and Lounge

Roundabout Diner and Lounge

580 Portsmouth Traffic Circle, Portsmouth, NH 03801

Breakfast or a burger (and there's parking!) We love the pancakes and the veggie omelet with bacon.

Kittery

Kittery, ME

The Kittery Outlets are good for shopping! Some deals and steals there!

Prescott Park

Prescott Park

105 Marcy Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

This park is walking distance from the hotel. There are often concerts and shows. It's a gorgeous garden!

Kaffee Vonsolln

Kaffee Vonsolln

79 Daniel Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801

This coffee shop is walking distance from your hotel - you could then walk Prescott Park! It has a solid breakfast sandwich too. Ask Grampie the story of when Anna took him here in 2017 :)

Ore Nell's Barbecue

Ore Nell's Barbecue

2 Badgers Island West, Kittery, ME 03904

Solid BBQ! Welcome to eat it on our dock too at 9 Badgers Island! :)

Mount Major

Mount Major

Alton, NH 03810

This mountain is less than an hour away from Portsmouth. If you're staying in NH for a couple of days, I'd add this to your list of activities! It's an easy 4 mile hike. No water is provided on the Mt. so bring some water! Gorgeous views of various lakes and mountains!

The Mount Washington Cog Railway

The Mount Washington Cog Railway

3168 Base Station Road, Mount WASHINGTON, NH 03589

I'd only recommend considering this if you're staying for a couple of days because it's two hours away from Portsmouth. This locomotive chugs up Mt. Washington (the "peak of the east," sometimes it's snowing on top even in the summer!) It's about a 3 hour round trip. Really cool experience and chance to see some bigger mountains!

Granite State Whale Watch

Granite State Whale Watch

1870 Ocean Boulevard, Rye, NH 03870

The boat leaves from Rye, NH (there's parking), and will take you to Jeffreys Ledge (maybe ~25 miles out to sea). There's this unique stretch of about 30 miles of underwater glacier remains that created massive shifts in the sea floor. The sea will go from 50 feet to 300 feet deep. This area is nutrient rich and biodiverse. BIG sea creatures flock there: whales, sharks, tuna, dolphins, sun fish. It's an awesome excursion but a multi-hour affair! Definitely worth it if you're in NH for a couple of days. There are other tours that go to the Isle of Shoals too! Portsmouth Harbor Cruise (no parking) or the Gundalow might be a nice boat option too if that's too hefty an excursion! Portsmouth Harbor Cruise has a booze cruise as well :)

Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse

Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse

25 Wentworth Road, New Castle, NH 03854

There are a bunch of nearby lighthouse that are worth the excursion! I'd go to Maine and see Nubble Light and get some saltwater taffy!
